Niklas Van Doorne is a passionate facilitator and peacebuilding professional who integrates Nonviolent Communication (NVC) into his work to support peacebuilding, social change, mediation, and humanitarian efforts in conflict-affected areas. He is experienced in designing and implementing civilian ceasefire monitoring and grassroots peace processes, where he has supported communities and organizations across the Philippines, Iraq, Ukraine, South Sudan, Kenya, and Palestine. Niklas is committed to advancing and embedding nonviolent conflict transformation and restorative practices in diverse contexts.

A pivotal moment in Niklas' professional journey came in early 2023 when he attended his first NVC training in Iraq. The simple yet profound methods of NVC helped to develop his approach to peacebuilding, enhancing the effectiveness of his contributions. His passion for NVC not only enriches his own practice but influenced how he supports the leadership of organizations within the humanitarian and peacebuilding sector in pursuit of organizational development. Niklas actively promotes facilitated education initiatives and advocates for policy and structural changes that support the integration of nonviolent approaches to conflict resolution.

In addition to his peacebuilding efforts, Niklas has developed expertise in environmental policy and climate change, focusing on regenerative methods. He understands the intricate connections between environmental neglect and human conflict, both internally and externally. With a compassionate presence, he is committed to supporting individuals, communities, and organizations as they navigate the challenges of high-stress environments. His goal is to build resilience and capacity that align peacebuilding objectives with environmental sustainability.

Through his holistic approach, Niklas Van Doorne continues to foster understanding and collaboration in the pursuit of a more peaceful and interconnected world, leveraging NVC as a powerful tool for social change and humanitarian support in areas of conflict.

NVC explorer

I started my NVC journey in 2005, inspired by the changes that suddenly happened for my mother, after many years of her suffering from social fear/phobia.The reason for her change was her inner work with the NVC tools.
My own goal was, the thought of, that maybe, I could learn to be the peace in the world, I wanted. Still learning ; )

Besides being still in training, I have had motivating experience using the tools from NVC in case management for debilitating illness, and have offered support to others who needed help in similar situations. It can be between state departments and a challenged person, between sick person and hospital ect.

I was involved in organising the IIT in Denmark in 2017, which was a joyful, heartwarming and motivating experience. To be in a place, surrounded by people from different cultures and parts of the world, all willing to dive into the NVC world, landed in me as a totally magical experience, and I would like again, to contribute to the outer form and frame for an IIT, in which that may unfold again.

Ha struggled for a long time to find a way to be true to herself while living harmoniously in relationships and contributing to the organizations and communities she belongs to. In 2019, the answer came when she learned about Nonviolent Communication. Since then, Ha has been learning, practicing and sharing NVC with individuals and organizations who want to nurture connections with themselves and others. Ha completed two NVC International Intensive Training. However, the most effective training ground for her has been her home, where she applies NVC with her large extended family and her two daughters..

Pedro's background is from Physics, having worked with several universities and research centers in Europe and former Eastern Bloc countries. The need to reach others in a more effective way led him to choose to become a primary and secondary school teacher, with the dream of changing the world through families and young people.

He grew up in a family where conflicts were avoided and communication was very poor or absent. He needed to deconstruct his rigidity and fear of conflict and rebuild the adult he had become. Immersed himself in different areas, such as Theater, Philosophy for Children, Yoga, Buddhist Meditation, Creative Writing, Systemic Constellations, Nonviolent Communication and Conflict Mediation.

His experience of almost 30 years as a teacher and 10 years as a Conflict Mediator with families and young people in regions of great conflict and violence, has given him a very accurate understanding of the dynamics and nuances of the conflict and proof of the effectiveness of Nonviolent Communication.

In 2021 he wrote his book “From Conflict to Love – Nonviolent Communication in School and Life”, published by Astrolábio Editions, in Portugal and Brazil.

He loves meaningful human relationships. Meaning, Contribution and Purpose are three human needs that are very present in everything he does. That's why he’s here!

Hey, welcome, I’m Sebastian,

Married, two adult kids and a cat.

Since 2018 my ever growing passion is to live and promote NVC wherever I am!

As a former airline pilot I am retired since 2016, and through NVC have gained a much deeper meaning and a real purpose in my life since then!

I do a lot of volunteer work, in a hospice, in a high school and with elderly people.

I am a certified Mediator on NVC basis, host practice groups in NVC-Mediation, Restorative Circles and NVC.

I give NVC workshops in schools, hospice and communities.

I answer the conflict-hotline of the federal association of German mediators.

I host an NVC practice group with inmates of a prison.

I am a board member of the ‚Network NVC Darmstadt-Südhessen e.V.‘ and co-founder of the ‚Network NVC Mainz-Wiesbaden‘.

I  feel a humble gratitude for this opportunity to contribute to the IIT in Sayda and look forward to this profound experience!

Begüm has worked in the International Financial Reporting field for 14 years, and is a permaculture designer who hasworked with communities who support community supported agriculture and ecological food. She is a mother of two children, a son and a daughter.

Begüm began her involvement with Nonviolent Communication after she gave birth to her second child, and witnessed behavioral change in the elder child. By that time, she discovered that NVC was her healing field rather than her children’s. With the help of NVC, she empowered to be centered in herself and to connect with others and herself empathically. She has met with her "self-actualization power” in NVC fields.

CNVC Certification Candidate, Master of Theology, Bachelor of Social Sciences, Neuropsychiatric Coach, RVO 2018 (=Constructive Communication Counsellor, CCC)

I discovered NVC in Savanna ConneXions’ Constructive Communication Counsellor (CCC) training in 2017. I initially joined the training to gain professional tools, but I soon realized I was receiving much more. Studying NVC turned out to be a life-changing experience that helped me connect with myself more deeply and authentically than any other approach I had encountered before.

The new skills I gained helped me understand myself better, deepen my relationships, and make more conscious choices to support both my own and others’ well-being. Learning and teaching NVC has become profoundly meaningful to me and is one of my greatest passions. I truly enjoy exploring what it means to be human and finding ways to foster connection between people — in workshops, trainings, and informal encounters alike.

You know how leaders rarely get honest feedback about their behavior. Most of the time they are alone, lonely and prone to exercise power over others. This has negative impact on engagement, well-being, satisfaction and results of their teams.

What I do is help leaders navigate the change by being their behavioral consciousness and sparring partner, providing them relational space where they can have regular, honest feedback. I motivate leaders and their teams commit to an outcome that they can all fully support.

I am an experienced executive coach with 12 years of practice working with CEOs, sports coaches, professional athletes and leaders on a mission to improve their organizations for the better of their communities.
