I’m Sri Ram Timilsina, a practitioner and trainer of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and Emotional Intelligence from Nepal. My work is inspired by a longing to create spaces where we don’t have to pretend — where we can feel everything: the grief, the joy, the frustration, the tenderness — and still know we belong.

Over the past decade, I’ve been sharing NVC and social-emotional learning with teachers, youth, and changemakers across Nepal. I see NVC not just as a way of communicating, but as a path of inner connection and healing — a way to reconnect with our hearts and remember our shared humanity. When we learn to feel again, we begin to heal not only ourselves, but also the pain carried by our families and the world around us.

Having had the privilege to be part of four IITs, I know how profoundly these gatherings can touch and transform our lives. Each one has reminded me that healing happens in connection — in laughter, in tears, in moments of silence, and in the courage to be seen just as we are.

As we gather again in Bali, I feel deep excitement and gratitude. May this IIT be another circle of belonging, where we rediscover our wholeness and remember that we are never alone on this journey.
