FROM THE ASSESSOR, Vivet Alevi

[EN] I am delighted to announce that my Assessor-in-Training (AIT) colleague Hagit Lifshitz and I have completed Soheil Masoudi's certification process. Soheil was introduced to Nonviolent Communication (NVC) when he joined a Professional Life Coach Training Program in 2009. As a business coach and consultant, he committed to sharing NVC as a practitioner and trainer long before he registered with me in the Certification Process in 2016. Soheil, originally from Iran, lives since 2015 in Turkey.

Since 2016, we have kept in regular contact regarding his journey with Nonviolent Communication. Soheil has participated in all mentoring and assessment days IMAD’s in Turkey since then. He has strong connections in both the Turkish NVC community and the Iranian NVC community. Over the past 18 months, he has worked closely with the pre-assessment process group SHEFA (with candidates Esin, Fatosh, Asuman, and Hamdi). At the last (International Mentoring and Assessment Days) IMAD, Soheil was supported by my team members Marianne Sikor, AiTs Hagit Lifshitz, Judy Saruhan, Deniz Spatar, and our community of candidates in the 360-degree feedback process.

I really appreciated his commitment to receiving feedback and his willingness to work on it, even though it has been challenging. As an NVC trainer, I am impressed by his openness to deepening the integration of NVC awareness when he discovers something that can enrich his practice. This contributes to my confidence in his ability to self-empathy, to seek support, to strengthen his self-expression, and his desire to empathize with others and grow in his capacity for living interdependence. I love his curiosity “about what it means to be human” and his vision of “a world in which people treat each other with care, honesty and dignity, embracing all aspects of humanity”.

Soheil maintains connections with people in the Iranian NVC network, and I appreciate his commitment to spreading NVC in Iran. I am confident he will continue to grow and make a meaningful contribution to the growth of NVC in Iran. I am happy to welcome him to the international community of Certified Trainers! Welcome, Soheil!

From Soheil:

In 2009, while I was taking a Professional Life Coach Training Program, I encountered NVC for the first time. I was so touched by this simple and yet profound approach to relationships (with myself and others) that I decided to go for more immediately. After reading the book, I also found a local trainer in Iran (Dr. Hamideh Mostafayi) and took part in her course. This was just the beginning. The more I tasted, the more I wanted. After months of weekly sessions and workshops, with Hamideh's support, I started to share my experience and understanding of NVC with others via workshops and sessions in 2010, with the hope to learn and live more while sharing.

Longing for more learning and considering that all our attempts to host a Certified Trainer in Iran failed (due to security reasons in those years), we arranged mentoring days in Istanbul in 2015. I was so touched by the experience that I decided to move to Turkey. From 2015 on, I have been blessed with the richness and diversity of my Turkish NVC community. I became a Certification Candidate in 2016 to facilitate my growing journey and become a bridge between Iran and International NVC resources. For the last ten years, I have been transferring what I learn and experience to Iran.

FROM THE ASSESSOR, Vivet Alevi

[EN] I am delighted to celebrate the completion of the learning path we have been on since we first met with Esin in my annual Fundamentals of Nonviolent Communication program in 2017. Self-compassion, self-esteem, and self-confidence have been the core work on our path together. Discovering the impact of her traumas on her current behavioral patterns has been painful yet enlightening. We learned from each other to grow in our capacity to stay connected even in tough times. I cherish her commitment to staying on the path, to increasing her ability to listen, to being flexible, to discovering and honoring her inner parts, and to connecting deeply with where her strength comes from.

I celebrate the shift I witnessed in her reactivity, her awareness of her reactions, and her ability to seek support. Her courage to reveal her vulnerability and her journey towards authenticity inspires me. Esin has long-term experience working in companies as an engineer. Her focus is on bringing Nonviolent Communication (NVC) to organizations around Izmir, where she lives. As an ICF professional coach, she is eager to bring her skills and resources to her network, to lead translation of books into Turkish, organise events like NVC Festival, develop creative materials, and serve peace.

Witnessing her passion for supporting/facilitating individual integrity, which she believes will enable inclusivity through simplicity and compassion, nourishes my hope. At the last (International Mentoring and Assessment Days) IMAD, Esin was supported by my team members Marianne Sikor, AiTs Hagit LifshitzJudy SaruhanDeniz Spatar, and our community of Certification Candidates in the 360-degree feedback process. I am delighted to welcome Esin to our growing community of trainers!

Büyüyen eğitmen topluluğumuzda Esin'i ağırlamaktan sevinç duyuyorum

From Esin:

I first encountered the Nonviolent Communication book through a reference list after completing my coaching training. I was deeply moved by almost every line in the book, but especially by these lines Marshall quoted from Carl Rogers in the ‘Empathy’ section: ‘It feels really good when someone listens to you without making preconceived judgments about you, without trying to take responsibility on your behalf, or trying to fit you into a certain mold’.

It is astonishing to see that when someone listens to me like this, things that previously seemed ‘unsolvable’ become solvable, and when someone hears me, the confusion that seemed impossible to escape begins to clear and flow like water." These lines ignited a huge spark in my heart; I remember feeling both a deep longing and pain because I had no experience of this described space. I was 46 years old, and until that moment, neither had I listened to someone like this, nor had anyone listened to me!

Since that day, I have dedicated my life to listening in the way described in this text and to supporting the skills needed to listen to each other in this way. Deep listening or hearing what is not said. And I spent quite a long time on the ‘connecting with myself’ part of the Certification Process. It took me a long time to be able to hear all my parts, accept them as they are, and transform their voices into needs.

I remember that this is why I found it difficult to hear feedback at first. CNVC's Certification Process supported me in developing my ability to hear myself and, as I heard myself, to turn toward others and hear broader and different worlds, to establish peace within myself, to understand why I put others in positions of authority, and to connect with my own power.

FROM THE ASSESSOR, Vivet Alevi

[EN] I am very happy to introduce you to Fatosh. I got to know her as a teacher working in a Turkish public school back in 2017 when she attended the ”BBOM (Another School is Possible) Teacher Support Program." I could immediately recognise her curiosity and courage as she introduced the “No Fault Zone” materials to her school via large hallway displays. I was impressed by her enthusiasm to learn and to grow through her openness to feedback. I had plenty of opportunities to experience her process, identifying her growth edges and developing based on the feedback she received.

Since our first encounter, I have witnessed her continued engagement in learning as well as her willingness to share the skills and ideas she has acquired. For example, attending LEE Labs in Europe and IIT’s in Turkey and Bali in 2023. Most recently, she organised and assisted with the international Erasmus training programme, “Teaching from the Heart”. With her Nonviolent Communication (NVC) experience, she focuses on education for both children and teachers. She is eager to explore teachings from different disciplines and build connections between them.

At the recent International Mentoring and Assessment Days (IMAD) 2025, Fatosh was supported by my team members Marianne Sikor, AiT Hagit LifshitzJudy Saruhan, and Deniz Spatar, as well as our community of Certification Candidates, in the 360-degree feedback process. I cherish her learning that is reflected in her self-assessment, like her trust and belief in connections, her ability to bring people together, her eagerness to build community, and her commitment to taking action to bridge differences.

Her compassionate heart, her openness to staying in dialogue, her commitment to love and staying open, and her excitement to focus on the beauty and essence of others are her strongest spiritual awareness. She is wholeheartedly engaged in contributing to the Turkish Nonviolent Communication Association and to creating a transparent, horizontal learning community where the principles of NVC are embraced. I look forward to seeing Fatosh's contributions to NVC in education, and to teachers building empowered communities that are transformed into living organisms. I welcome Fatosh to our international trainer community!

Fatoş’a, uluslararası eğitmen topluluğumuza hoş geldin diyorum!

From Fatoş:

The Certification Process, especially being part of a 5-person practice group, opened space for me to revisit and reshape what I thought I knew about closeness and emotional intimacy. Bringing my core beliefs into this group, within a space that felt truly safe, allowed me to experience intimacy in a completely new way. It was both touching and transformative to witness how openness and honesty could create such a genuine connection.

Throughout this process, I encountered moments of both harmony and conflict. Especially during conflicts, I became more skillful at offering empathy to myself, turning toward others with curiosity, and staying grounded even when no one was curious about me. I practiced mediating a lot between others and expressing myself with honesty — all of which deepened my understanding of what compassionate presence really means.

Observing myself closely and looking through this inner lens was joyful, adventurous, and deeply compassionate for me. It also supported me to work consciously with my growth edges and helped me deeply understand how important it is to take action steps to transform these edges into strengths. Staying present with my growth edges has expanded my capacity to create new habits and embody new ways of being. This journey gave me focus and helped me see myself more clearly. I became more aware of my inner reactions and patterns, and I began to notice how my intention could shift an entire interaction from disconnection to understanding.

FROM THE ASSESSOR, Vivet Alevi

[EN] I am thrilled that Asu has completed her journey towards Certification! Born and grew up in Turkey, since 2018 Asu has lived in the Netherlands, where she got to know Nonviolent Communication (NVC). I first met her at IIT 2023 in Turkey, where she was already registered as a Certification Candidate with Sabine Geiger. Asu was part of the translation team. After this experience, she asked if she could transfer to me as her Assessor, having become connected with the Turkish NVC community.

I was immediately impressed by Asu's passion for growth and her dedication to living life to the fullest, embracing her fears and acting with courage and compassion. I enjoyed the quality of authenticity and vulnerability when Asu shares what is alive in her, whether it is celebrations, frustrating situations, or mourning. Her courage in being open and honest when expressing herself and her healing work in embracing her different parts with empathy are truly inspiring.

I find it also very inspiring how Asu uses her drawings and texts to actively engage with social media and reach a wider audience. Through her work in the Netherlands and Turkey with people from different cultures, she experiences the universal language of the heart, which transcends languages and cultures to connect us to our universal humanity.

At the recent International Mentoring and Assessment Days (IMAD), Asu was supported by my team members Marianne Sikor, AiTs Hagit LifshitzJudy Saruhan, and Deniz Spatar, as well as our Certification Candidate community, through 360-degree feedback. The way she receives and integrates feedback gives me great confidence in her commitment to embodying NVC consciousness and spreading NVC around the world. Asu, I'm delighted to welcome you to our growing community of trainers!

From Asuman:

My journey with Nonviolent Communication began in 2018. My son Deniz was only 20 days old when I came across a video of a workshop by Marshall Rosenberg. I watched it breathlessly. I was deeply moved by how he brought together the practical AND the spiritual, the societal AND the personal — a harmony that has stayed alive in me ever since and become my path to relearning how to love myself and life itself.

Through NVC, I’ve come to see that it’s possible to care for our own needs while keeping our hearts open to the experience of others. My passion is to share this awareness with those who are seeking ways to build loving connections with others while staying true to themselves. I dedicate my time and energy with tremendous joy to give online and in-person training for individuals, couples, and groups. I also love creating accessible and relatable content through my writings and drawings on social media. Working with people from different cultures in the Netherlands and Turkey keeps reminding me of the universality of being human. Our languages and stories may differ, but the language of our hearts is the same.

FROM THE ASSESSOR, Vivet Alevi

[EN] I invite you to join me in celebrating and welcoming Hamdi to our community. When I met Hamdi in 2015, he was already a seasoned business consultant with an interest in various methods. He immediately began sharing Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in organizations with enthusiasm.

His enthusiasm grew over time. Throughout the Certification Process, his relationship with Nonviolent Communication deepened and became increasingly profound. As he continued to learn, share, and live in all aspects of his life, it transformed into an inner passion. I am inspired by his progress and his intention to continue this path as a lifelong learning process, deepening his commitment to this field wholeheartedly. Hamdi says of himself, “I have come to know myself more closely.” I celebrate this self-awareness with him.

He also carries the hope and faith that, when people learn to live with a needs-based awareness, they will no longer kill each other and discover an entirely new way of being. This seems to be a deep and heartfelt realization. I believe that living and expressing this intention, offering support, and serving this consciousness give him the most meaning in life.

Over the past 10 years, I have accompanied Hamdi on his journey with ups and downs, and I have enjoyed witnessing his transformation from a business consultant to a reflective human being deeply committed to living and sharing NVC in his professional and personal life as a father and a man. At the recent International Mentoring and Assessment Days (IMAD) 2025, Hamdi was supported by my team members Marianne Sikor, AiTs Hagit LifshitzJudy Saruhan, and Deniz Spatar, as well as our community of Certification Candidates, in the 360-degree feedback process. I am delighted to have you among us.

From Hamdi:

I began my journey with Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in 2015, together with Vivet Alevi, and two years ago, I decided to complete my Certification Process. After making that decision, I continued to learn and grow for 18 months together with five fellow Certification candidates in Turkey. The structure we created has deeply supported my certification journey, and I feel great joy in sharing this, especially with those who are currently Certification Candidates.

FROM THE ASSESSOR, Dionne Verbeet

It’s with great enthusiasm that I’m announcing Tamara as a new Certified Trainer. Tamara, in the first years of her path, walked with Sylvia Haskvitz, and I’m celebrating how the wisdom and depth of the First Generation has found its way through Tamara. She told me she spent hours and hours walking with Marshall while listening to his podcast or other recordings, and this has resulted in a huge knowledge of Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

I enjoy her immense capacity for both overview/the broader picture and eye for detail, which comes to life in all sorts of practical situations or projects: from a new playground, to inclusion of all at a special needs school, and from connections with her local community to the creation of training programmes. I see here, over and over again, going back to the connection with the heart and reaching out from that place. I’m very much looking forward to what’s to come.

From Tamara:

My path with Nonviolent Communication started as a whisper. A quiet longing to make sense of what I felt but couldn’t yet express. Over time, it became the language of my life. I’ve carried NVC through many landscapes: the complexity of social systems, the intensity of pregnancy and birth, the daily messiness of parenting, the journey of love relationships, and the delicate world of neurodiversity. I’ve practiced it in multicultural contexts and in rooms filled with conflict, hope, and exhaustion. Each encounter has deepened my trust that empathy and presence can move mountains. Slowly, silently, and for real.

Embodiment has always been my compass. I listen to the body as the first place where truth arrives. From there, creativity gives shape to words, and organization provides the structure that allows depth to unfold. My background in architecture still echoes in how I design trainings, spaces, and group processes with attention to rhythm, clarity, and beauty. The Certification Process has been both a mirror and a homecoming. It revealed my patterns of striving and my need for belonging. It invited me to slow down, listen deeper, and trust what lives inside. I learned that Nonviolent Communication is not something I do; it’s how I walk, breathe, and connect.

Health challenges, family transitions, and community work have all been teachers on this path. They brought humility and groundedness to my practice. They reminded me that empathy begins with the courage to stay present, even when life doesn’t go as planned. Now, as I step into this community of Certified Trainers, I do so with gratitude and a clear heart. My wish is to keep creating spaces where people rediscover their voice, their aliveness, and the simple truth that we are all wired for connection.

Nicolas' mentors celebrate that he has evolved from the quest for perfection to an inner journey, while remaining connected to Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in the professional world. They also enjoyed sharing NVC with him, in its spiritual aspect. As a psychologist, Nicolas works with health and care professionals (social workers, educators) and leads numerous practice groups. We appreciate the confidence he has in the process, which allows him the freedom to connect with what is alive within the group.

From Nicolas:

[EN] Nine years ago, I was going through difficulties at work and received empathy for more than 90 minutes. I loved that experience; I experienced connection, support, and clarity. I wanted to learn more about Nonviolent Communication and about that moment in my life that had done me so much good. From my very first NVC training, I knew that I wanted to become a trainer, even though I didn’t yet know the path I would take.

It was an inner journey of opening the heart that profoundly transformed the way I am. My family was able to observe the changes that gradually took place and that led us to more peace and joy. Supported, among others, by my two mentors, Catherine Tihon and Véronique Pardonnet, I take great pleasure in contributing and sharing through NVC. As a psychologist, I work with health and caregiving professionals. I also facilitate many NVC awareness and practice groups with diverse audiences.

As Céline's Assessors, we appreciate her perseverance and "all the heart she puts into sharing this process, which she constantly strives to embody, both in her family life and in her training. And in sharing her knowledge, she is clear, precise, and attentive to everyone." We particularly appreciate how she has used her great sensitivity as an asset and a strength, daring to express her own unique style. Céline already works in the prison environment. Trained as a mediator, she works with families. She would like to contribute to creating educational approaches adapted to neuro-atypical individuals who require a specific pace.

from Céline:

When I first discovered Nonviolent Communication (NVC), it felt like opening a window to get pure and fresh air. It also felt like joining with friends around a campfire. I realized that I had been searching for peace ever since I was a little child, and felt deeply alone and discouraged in that quest. It was very moving for me to discover that many of us are actually searching for peaceful and honest relationships! I started to attend trainings and became very passionate, even idealistic, about the process on the "empathy" field, for a while I forgot to listen to some of my deep needs or specificities.

The path to certification was a gift of meaning, friendship, and inspiration; I lived so many moments of deep connection, I felt what the word "community" means, I connected with so many unique and incredible human beings :-)... It also mobilized many resources (time, energy, money) and got me close to exhaustion... which helped me to dive deeper and deeper into self-connection, introspection, and acceptance. I restored balance between what I give to others and what I give to myself, which, for me, is a very deep and spiritual sign of evolution. I now know better both my vulnerabilities and I also feel my strengths, which is a great joy!

from the Assessors, LAURENCE BRUSCHWEILER LAURE GALVEZ

Bruno's mentor appreciates his ability to question himself, ask for feedback, and receive it, in order to continue his development. Bruno is a police officer and is particularly interested in supporting social workers, sharing his vulnerability, and how Nonviolent Communication (NVC) helps him embrace his emotions in the various situations he encounters in his professional and personal life. He therefore places great emphasis on self-connection, which is lacking in training for this type of audience. He enjoys supporting people who put themselves at the service of others (civil service, SOS friendship, street mediators…), and his dream is to bring NVC to the police.

from Bruno:

[EN] I discovered Nonviolent Communication (NVC) through my wife, who attended a conference at our children’s school and later followed NVC training. After she introduced NVC into our home, it took some time for me to move beyond my certainties/prejudices and begin my own journey. It wasn’t until several years later that I truly began my own training, thanks to a friend who had just been certified.

Passionate about communication and what enables us to live in peaceful and happy societies/communities, I was searching for a way to educate people on the concepts of Good and Evil. What I discovered through NVC deeply transformed my relationship with myself and others, helping me to move beyond the duality of Good and Evil. Awareness of feelings, needs, interdependence, and the joy of contributing allowed me to reinvent my approach to all areas of my life.

Beyond my role as a husband and father, I have worked in security forces since I was 19. I was driven by a deep desire to work for peace, but was dissatisfied with the means at my disposal. I often felt powerless in the face of violence and misery. Mediation and NVC have allowed me to place humanity at the heart of my personal life and my professional practice, both with the people I serve and with my colleagues.

I also realized that we need to learn to take care of ourselves in order to be able to take care of others. To me, this is the meaning behind Gandhi’s quote: "Be the change you wish to see in the world!" Driven by the same sense of service and contribution to peace, I continue my journey as a Certified Trainer and mediator, pursuing the dream of being able to teach those who dedicate their lives to helping others.

Marielle's mentor appreciates her sparkle, authenticity, and deeply rooted Nonviolent Communication (NVC) she conveys. She enjoys challenging herself and is eager to learn with humility. We trust her ability to talk about herself and her own vulnerability, which allows early childhood educators to join her in daring to share their emotions. Her preferred area of intervention remains child protection, and she also enjoys creating team cohesion in growing organizations.

from Marielle:

I was fortunate enough to discover Nonviolent Communication (NVC) at university during my psychology studies. Then, I was guided by Véronique Gaspard on this path of integration. I was able to exchange ideas and mentor with other assistants, which was very enriching, and benefit from Véro's feedback on my integration, along with questions that helped me develop my perspective and understanding.
