"I want my children to be safe and accepted wherever they go in the world. I want this for you as well."

Ian Peatey was born in 1963 in Britain and now lives in Romania. He has a long career in business, having worked for a global consulting firm and, more recently, a small niche consulting and coaching business. “But my heart is in NVC,” he attests.

“For those who don’t know this part of Europe, Romania is nestled in between Ukraine, Moldova, Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia and the Black Sea. It’s wonderfully rich in natural beauty including the Carpathian Mountains and the Danube delta. My wife is Romanian and also an NVC trainer, and we have a nonprofit association devoted to NVC. Honestly speaking I’m not into connection for the sake of connection (there are just too many people in the world), but do treat this welcome as an invitation to contact me if anything here resonates with you and you would either like to know more or perhaps see some way we could support each other.”

Originally from Great Britain, since 2001, Ian has been working with the Nonviolent Communication method in organizations, open courses and family camps. He studied with Marshall Rosenberg, the doctor of psychology who laid the foundations of this philosophy, and is a certified trainer of the Center for Nonviolent Communication in the United States of America.

He has over 12 years of experience as a trainer for organizations such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, the European Commission, British Telecom, Telos Partners, Decathlon, NN Insurance, ING. His passion is the implementation of Nonviolent Communication in the business environment.

In 2012 he started the program Getting Started in NVC, a series of three courses designed to support those who want to integrate Nonviolent Communication in their personal life, and then share it with others. Recently, the program was revised and today we find it under the name of Extraordinary Relationships, an intensive 6-month training in which participants learn by applying the principles of CNV in three significant relationships in their lives.

Since 2016, Ian also works as a team coach of the Entrepreneurship Academy, where he guides a group of students in the art of collaboration and business creation based on solid values and moral principles. He is also a partner in the Solution Focus coaching organization, Solution Surfers Romania.

TRAINING FOCUS:

  • Business
  • Parenting & Family
I believe NVC is one of many approaches with the power to create the world I want to live in, and it’s the way I have chosen for myself, my family, and my work. I came across NVC in 2001 and immediately felt its power for change — first in myself and then in my relationships. I would love other people to feel this power too and then choose if they want to use it further.
“I’m focused on building a strong community of NVC trainers, supporters, and learners in Romania, supporting the global community (as an International Intensive Training trainer), and bringing NVC to teams and to couples.”
