Cornelia Timm
My name is Cornelia Timm, and I was born in 1955. From 1980 to 1998, I worked as a teacher for German and social studies at various schools. This work involved helping to build two comprehensive schools; I was particularly interested in forming teams. Training to become a counselor paved the way for coexistence at school beyond the curricular framework and an increasing interest in social connections.
During the last five years of my school career, I was a member of the staff council for comprehensive school teachers in our administrative district and have around 200 in this role. Colleagues were supervised in terms of personnel law. This activity qualified me increasinglyAdvice, communication and constructive handling of conflicts.
Various training courses in the areas of improvisational theater, conflict management and Mediation convinced me more and more to pursue a career in this area. I have been working as an independent trainer at the ORCA Institute for Conflict Management since 1999. I train in companies, schools, and social institutions. Furthermore, I was in one Peace and reconciliation project in Myanmar. My focus is needs-based planning and implementing educational work and creative conflict resolution.

Mein Name ist Cornelia Timm, ich bin 1955 geboren. Von 1980 bis 1998 habe ich als Lehrerin für Deutsch und Gesellschaftslehre an verschiedenen Schulen gearbeitet. Schwerpunkt meiner Arbeit war der Mit-Aufbau von zwei Gesamtschulen; dabei war mir die Bildung von Teams besonders wichtig. Eine Ausbildung zur Beratungslehrerin stellte die Weichen für ein Miteinander in der Schule über den curricularen Rahmen hinaus und ein zunehmendes Interesse an sozialen Zusammenhängen.
Während der letzten fünf Jahre meiner schulischen Tätigkeit war ich Mitglied des Personalrats für GesamtschullehrerInnen in unserem Regierungsbezirk und habe in dieser Funktion ca. 200 KollegInnen personalrechtlich betreut. Diese Tätigkeit qualifizierte mich zunehmend in Beratung, Kommunikation und im konstruktiven Umgang mit Konflikten.
Verschiedene Fortbildungen in den Bereichen Improvisationstheater, Konfliktmanagement und Mediation überzeugten mich immer mehr davon, in diesem Bereich beruflich tätig werden zu wollen.Seit 1999 arbeite ich als selbständige Trainerin im ORCA-Institut für Konfliktmanagement und Training in Unternehmen, Schulen und sozialen Einrichtungen.
Darüber hinaus war ich in einem Friedens- und Versöhnungsprojekt in Myanmar tätig. Mein Schwerpunkt ist bedarfsorientierte Bildungsarbeit und kreative Konfliktbearbeitung zu planen und umzusetzen. Ich bin anerkannte Mediatorin im Bundesverband Mediation e.V.
