Artem Sivak joined CNVC in August 2026 as the Certification Department Assistant. He supports the global Certification Process through stakeholder communication, record management, certification workflows, reporting, and improvements to internal systems and processes.
Originally trained as an automation engineer, Artem brings a systems-oriented perspective to his work and particularly enjoys simplifying and automating recurring processes. Following Ukraine’s Revolution of Dignity in 2013, and the outbreak of war and occupation of Crimea, where he was living in 2014, he felt a growing need to make a more meaningful contribution to his country and its increasingly divided society. This led him from engineering into peacebuilding, dialogue, and civil society work. Now he has more than seven years of experience in Ukrainian humanitarian and civil society programmes, with a focus on peacebuilding, social cohesion, dialogue facilitation, capacity building, community engagement, and digital communication.
Artem encountered Nonviolent Communication in 2017 through the Peace Engineers School, an intensive year-long programme in NVC, dialogue facilitation, mediation, group decision-making, crisis negotiation, and trauma-informed approaches. He has been a Certification Candidate since 2021. NVC has helped reshape how he sees himself, other people, and the world, and continues to influence both his professional work and personal life.
Artem is from Ukraine and speaks Ukrainian, Russian, English, and some Portuguese. He is also the father of a young son and currently dedicates much of his time outside work to fatherhood.
