This is a FREE Level 1 (beginners) class series, suitable for those who've had some training already and for those completely new to NVC.

It is sponsored by the Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Fund at Urbana University, Urbana, Ohio.

Nonviolent Communication is an approach to relating to ourselves and others that helps us express ourselves respectfully, be heard more fully, and have fewer conflicts. Yet, because we're human beings, conflicts will still arise. NVC helps us resolve them more peacefully by finding win-win solutions.

It helps us do this even in sticky situations, even when it's scary to speak up, even with someone we see as our enemy, and even with someone we love dearly, but at the moment want to scream at!

It is taught and used all over the world in families, schools, workplaces, hospitals, organizations-- anywhere people are!

We will use the book Nonviolent Communication--A language of life, by Marshall B. Rosenberg, PhD, 3rd edition, Puddledancer Press, but it is not required.

Who is it for

This class is for those new to NVC as well as those who've had some training. There's always more to learn and practice!

  • Have conversations rather than arguments
  • Speak honestly in a way others are more willing to listen
  • Come together instead of pull apart, by understanding each other better
  • Find win-win solutions
  • Strengthen already-satisfying relationships

Registration Investment

This entire class series is FREE.

What to Bring

While the book is not required, those who read it find it helps them learn more easily and fully. It is available to borrow through the library and purchase from the publisher and Amazon. I have four books available in class for loan ($10 refundable deposit) and more for purchase ($11).

Registration, payment and deposit info.
