Description

This somatic approach for embodying NVC is experiential and deeply moving, as it gently attunes us to the signals of our bodies and a present, direct, immediate experience of the life we are living. This is where we come face to face with the history we carry, our deeper selves, our greatest gifts, and the motivation to heal past trauma in order to develop new, more skillful, inclusive responses to life's challenges.

David’s unique body awareness practices integrated with Nonviolent Communication’s brilliant linguistic skills help to bring our deep caring nature into the foreground of living.  The distance one expects from interacting through screens swiftly disappears as the somatic practices bring everyone together through shared experiences of sensations, thoughts and feelings.

David’s lived experience and somatic approach inspires the kind of care that imbues personal practices with meaning that aligns physical, emotional, linguistic, and energetic domains.  Meaningful practice is an agent of change that can assist us in embedding consciously chosen habits into our being and in replacing old habits and patterns we have previously developed that may no longer serve us.

Learning to appreciate our body’s signals rather than react to them puts in touch with our “inner guidance system” that can discern real from imagined dangers and shed light on our daily choices, actions and words. When we train our attention to shift from the dramas that we perceive to the instinctual wisdom of our bodies, our bodies become a place to come home to whenever we lose our bearings. This is where we feel the quality of our deeper needs, our own integrity, empathy, authentic expression, creativity and the ground we stand on.

The recent Covid pandemic has accelerated the potential in virtual trainings and delightfully, David has been able to harvest the potential of this new technology/medium to support an experience of deep connection that we have come to enjoy in in-person trainings.  While the structure looks different, the outcome is connective and transformative, (and a smaller carbon footprint!)
