Our two seasoned trainers (with over 25 years of combined NVC experience) will facilitate your learning the principles and skills of NVC and co-create with you a rich and connecting experience. Participate in large and small group learning experiences, personal and private sessions, empathy groups, games, journaling, art, and a final evening “Expression Session”. There will be time dedicated for art, music, hiking, walking the labyrinth, naps, meditation, and journaling. So many ways to connect deeply with yourself and others, enveloped in the beauty of the natural surroundings.

Living From the Heart: NVC Summer Retreat in the Santa Cruz Redwoods

Friday, July 19-Wednesday, July 24, 2019; Quaker Retreat Center; Ben Lomond, CA

Time to make your summer retreat plans and join us for six glorious days of mindful living from the heart – a celebration of compassionate communication! (weekend commuter options available too) Join us to relax, rejuvenate, and refill your empathy cup! What do you want for your summer learning, fun, and community connection? Are you ready to treat yourself to six days of reconnecting with your joy with all your heart and authenticity?! Leave behind daily demands and immerse yourself in the flow of empathy and honesty. Grow skills and glean insights from working with our awesome team of NVC trainers. Awaken each day to what’s alive – engaging your mind, heart, body and spirit in harvesting the wisdom of your own feelings and needs. We’ll have multiple offerings of topics and trainers for each morning and afternoon sessions; whole group gatherings in the morning and late afternoon; and evening options of fun and related topics as well as whatever emerges from the group input. Register here

2017 FUNfest

When you register, you can choose to stay in a cabin/room, camp in your tent, stay in your small RV on site, or commute during the day and evening to the retreat center. Check out the Quaker Center on line, www.quakercenter.org to see photos of the venue. CNVC Certified Trainers Jean Morrison and Kristin Masters with NVC Santa Cruz will be back this year. 

Meals are guaranteed to be healthy, organic (whenever possible), and wholesome. Our cook will have vegetarian and vegan options and will be advised of any food allergies.

Cost: The following includes the costs of accommodations, materials for the course and meals:

Early Bird price until June 15

Weekend Commuters: $245 Fri.-Sun. ($295 after June 16)

Commuters: $435 ($495 after June 16)

Camping/RV: $495 ($545 after June 16)

Double: $645 ($695 after June 16)

Single: $865 ($925 after June 16)

Tuition (Trainer’s Fees) 

In the spirit of Dana, meaning ‘practicing generosity’, teachers/trainers are paid by your donation. A suggested donation for the teaching, for those who can happily contribute, is $500. If money is a challenge, please come and give what you joyfully can towards tuition.

Your registration  covers your accommodation, materials for the course, and three meals a day. The trainers will collect your Dāna donations at the end of the retreat.

All fees are refundable, less a $75 service charge, until July 1. After that, there is a $150 cancellation fee. If you cancel after July 10, you will be refunded 50% of your registration. If you cancel after the retreat has started, there is no refund. 

Nonviolent Communication Santa Cruz is a 501c3 non-profit. We depend on a fee for service model to support and sustain the mission of our organization If money is a challenge, please come and give what you can happily give towards tuition. We want to make NVC trainings financiall accessible to all.
