I live in Fukushima, Japan—a region deeply impacted by the Great East Japan Earthquake and the nuclear disaster. Rooted in this land, I continue to engage in work that gently fosters connection and quiet transformation in society through Nonviolent Communication (NVC). I first encountered NVC during a time in my life when I was living in a state of overwhelm and emotional numbness. In that closed and frozen place, I experienced the shock and joy of having my voice truly heard—and that moment led me to the path of NVC. Today, I facilitate a year-long learning program called Kirin School, where we explore what it means to live NVC in everyday life. My work also includes trauma-informed community support, parent-child relationships, collaboration with local governments and schools, and creating spaces for intercultural dialogue across Asia. I continue to explore the nervous system patterns shaped by the patriarchal structures and cultures of silence I grew up within. From this perspective, I cherish the connections between social systems and life itself, the act of giving voice to the voiceless, and the meaning of choosing to be fully alive in this moment. To me, NVC is both a prayer and a practice. I carry both the strength that nonviolence can bring when it works, and the pain of when it doesn’t—and still, I wish to pass it on to future generations. While my work is rooted in the Japanese language and context, I believe that the power of resonating through shared human needs transcends cultural and national boundaries. It brings me joy to keep meeting companions who share and celebrate life, wherever that may be. My mission is to bring the skills of communicating with compassion and clarity to individuals and communities through my own being, and to train together. I’m excited about the connection that may bring us together. I truly look forward to the day we meet. # Trainer's primary language こんにちは。CNVC認定トレーナーの須藤みな子（スフィヤ）です。 私は日本の福島に暮らしています。ここは、東日本大震災と原発事故によって大きな影響を受けた土地です。この地域に根ざしながら、非暴力コミュニケーション（NVC）を通じて、人と人とのつながりを再生し、社会に静かに変化を起こす活動を続けています。 NVCとの出会いは、私が圧倒や麻痺の中で生きていた時期でした。心も体も硬く閉ざされた状態の中で、「声が届く」「聞いてもらえる」ことの衝撃と喜びに触れた体験が、私をNVCの道へと導きました。現在は「きりん学校」という1年を通じた学びの場を主宰し、日常の中でNVCを生きることを探求しています。また、トラウマに配慮した地域支援、親子関係、自治体や学校との協働、アジア圏での異文化対話の場づくりにも取り組んでいます。 私は、自分自身が育ってきた家父長制の構造や、沈黙が当たり前だった文化の中でどんな神経の動きがあったのかを見つめ続けています。その視点から、構造といのちの関係性、声なき声に光をあてること、そして今を生きることの意味を大切にしています。 NVCは、私にとって「祈り」であり「現実」です。非暴力が十分に機能したときの力と、そうでなかったときの痛みの両方を抱えながら、それでもなお未来の世代に渡していきたいと願っています。日本語での活動を軸にしながらも、ニーズで響き合う力は、国や文化の違いを越えて広がっていくと信じています。どこかの場で、いのちを分かち合う仲間と出会い続けられたらうれしいです。 私の使命は、個人とコミュニティに、思いやりと明瞭さをもってコミュニケーションをとるスキルを自分という存在を通して持ち込み、共にトレーニングすることです。あなたとのご縁にワクワクしています。お会いできる日を、心から楽しみにしています。 > “We conduct sessions that address both the individual and the collective.
