[ READ IN TRAINER'S PRIMARY LANGUAGE ](#in-primary-language)

Since becoming a Certified Trainer in 2012, I have offered trainings (including train-the-trainer and to organisations) in Europe, the U.K., Asia, and the U.S. Most recently, I have developed and co-led (in translation) a first ever in Vietnam Art Therapist programme (with elements of NVC) at universities. I also offer [one-to-one **sessions**](https://nvcheart.teachable.com/p/creative-support-and-healing) <https://nvcheart.teachable.com/p/creative-support-and-healing> , including supervision and mentoring of trainers and facilitators, online (I am based in the U.K.) .

To support the ways of self-expression and understanding each other in the circumstances where the words do not quite do it, I also have developed **a visual art approach** to connecting with oneself and others. You can find pre-recorded, self-study Art-based courses on my [website](https://nvcheart.teachable.com/) <https://nvcheart.teachable.com/> .

**Why bring visual art into the process of learning and practising NVC?** Art helps me (and I witnessed it likewise helping others) to move towards embodying NVC and to **shift to "being Giraffe" from "doing Giraffe"**. Art practice also feeds my imagination and my creativity that are essential for my NVC practice and work. In more words, for me, this quote of **John-Paul Lederach** (a renown peace builder, author and teacher) points to similar phenomena:

*"Is building peace an art or a skill? Discussions have emerged between those who believe responding to conflict and building social change is primarily a learned skill and those who see it as an art. <...> Building constructive social change in settings of deep-rooted conflict requires both. But the evolution of becoming a profession, the orientation toward technique, and the management of process in conflict resolution and peacebuilding have overshadowed, underestimated, and in too many instances forgotten the art of the creative process*

*<...>*

*We must envision our work as a creative act, more akin to the artistic endeavor than the technical process. This never negates skill and technique. But it does suggest that the wellspring, the source that gives life, is not found in the supporting scaffolding, the detailed knowledge of substance and process, nor the paraphernalia that accompanies any professional endeavor, be it artistic, political, economic, or social. The wellspring lies in our moral imagination, which I will define as the capacity to imagine something rooted in the challenges of the real world yet capable of giving birth to that which does not yet exist."*

On a logistics note, **if you are looking for an assessor**, for now I ask for potential candidates to have met me at least once within the last three years at a training or an event of two days and longer duration (or equivalent number of hours). Why? I really value living making and changing my agreements with care, and from experience, a potential candidate knowing me, and me them, allows us to have an experiential, embodied, grounded-in-observations sense of whether we are a good fit for a certification journey.
