"To me, NVC is a path to reclaiming our wholeness—where each of us, just as we are, can live fully, in connection with one another, with nature, and with life itself.

My encounter with Nonviolent Communication (NVC) came at a major turning point in my life.

After graduating from university, I spent nearly 30 years in the business world, with the latter half in leadership roles in global corporations. Looking back, I now see that I was in a constant state of striving and surviving—while deep down, longing for genuine connection and understanding, even though I wasn’t consciously aware of it at the time.

Eventually, this way of living became unsustainable, and I found myself in deep personal struggle. Around that time, I came across NVC. Almost simultaneously, the COVID-19 pandemic began. I made the bold decision to step away from my executive career and relocate to Itoshima, a coastal town in Fukuoka Prefecture, with no clear plan for what would come next.

What I did know was that I wanted to live in alignment with the longings of my soul, and to connect more deeply with myself, others, and nature. NVC became an essential companion in this transition, helping me understand why I had been struggling and what had led me to a sense of burnout.

Even though I was drawn to NVC from the beginning, my learning journey was not always easy. Of course, studying NVC doesn’t mean that only pleasant things happen. I had to face both comfortable and uncomfortable feelings, notice when I was caught in judgments, and learn to relate to myself with compassion. Gradually, through practice, I began to internalize these capacities.

For me, NVC is a lifelong path of learning and living—a trusted companion in my life. I hope that sharing my personal experience and learning can be of support to others as well.

Going forward, I hope to engage more deeply in organizational development grounded in NVC principles.
In addition, I will continue to focus on bringing NVC to business professionals and supporting local changemakers in Itoshima. I aim to co-create cultures of empathy, collaboration, and authenticity—both in workplaces and communities.

> “My mission is to bring Nonviolent Communication to both business professionals and local changemakers. I offer organizational development, leadership facilitation, and workshops rooted in NVC. I also support individuals through 1-on-1 sessions, helping them deepen connection with themselves and others. I’m committed to nurturing cultures of empathy, authenticity, and shared humanity—whether in companies, communities, or families.
