My name is **Michèle Bürgin**. I was born and raised in Switzerland. Wherever people meet in a genuine, human, and authentic way, I feel at ease. I love to move – dancing to happy music, roaming through the woods, or enjoying a swim in lakes and rivers.

I am magnetically drawn to places beyond right and wrong. Where vulnerability is welcome and difficult experiences can turn into bright strength, I feel at home. Through Nonviolent Communication, I have learned how safe and authentic connection truly contributes to healing and growth. How beautiful it is that we can meet simply and completely naturally, exploring and enjoying together the sheer beauty of the present moment and everything that comes with it. That is what truly touches my heart. Today, I passionately love creating spaces for this kind of authentic being. This is true both in my work as a project manager in a nursing home and in my role as a coach.

With great joy and my experience in marketing, project management and change management, I love to contribute from the heart to making the Switzerland 2027 IIT a safe, comforting, and transformative place for you. I am full of gratitude to organize this IIT together with Sarah, Giorgio, and the wonderful trainer team.

I am very much looking forward to an unforgettable 9-day journey with you, amidst the magic in the powerful nature of the Kiental. Let’s dive into this safe space with a sense of play! It's a place to learn, explore with joy, deepen your connection to yourself, and practice mindful, self-caring connections with others.

Pedro's background is from Physics, having worked with several universities and research centers in Europe and former Eastern Bloc countries. The need to reach others in a more effective way led him to choose to become a primary and secondary school teacher, with the dream of changing the world through families and young people.

He grew up in a family where conflicts were avoided and communication was very poor or absent. He needed to deconstruct his rigidity and fear of conflict and rebuild the adult he had become. Immersed himself in different areas, such as Theater, Philosophy for Children, Yoga, Buddhist Meditation, Creative Writing, Systemic Constellations, Nonviolent Communication and Conflict Mediation.

His experience of almost 30 years as a teacher and 10 years as a Conflict Mediator with families and young people in regions of great conflict and violence, has given him a very accurate understanding of the dynamics and nuances of the conflict and proof of the effectiveness of Nonviolent Communication.

In 2021 he wrote his book “From Conflict to Love – Nonviolent Communication in School and Life”, published by Astrolábio Editions, in Portugal and Brazil.

He loves meaningful human relationships. Meaning, Contribution and Purpose are three human needs that are very present in everything he does. That's why he’s here!

I'm currently working as a project manager at Officience which has provided me invaluable insights into team dynamics, particularly during the organizational changes and challenges of the past three years, including the Covid-19 pandemic. This period intensified my focus on effective communication, conflict resolution, and creating supportive environments. My exploration of empathic listening and facilitated discussion techniques, was driven by a desire to foster genuine connection and understanding within teams.

I am 27 years old and currently in the final stages of my degree in communication psychology. I also work in public relations and corporate communications and supplement my theoretical knowledge from university with practical experience. In my free time, I enjoy making music, singing and my husband plays the piano and guitar, reading, being in nature (whether cycling or hiking) and discovering the world.

I grew up with non-violent communication and am very grateful for the values that I was able to learn from an early age. After graduating from high school, I started to actively engage with it myself and I really value it in my life. Whether for contact with myself, my husband or other people. I am particularly keen to pass on non-violent communication to young people and to exchange ideas and learn together with people my own age. I published a book about my experiences of growing up with non-violent communication in 2023.

My journey with NVC started in 2014 when I received a copy of the book "Life Enriching Communication " as a gift in a German translation. Initially, I sought a way out of anxiety and depression with the help of Nonviolent Communication. Along the way, I noticed that my life became so much more colorful, easier, and fulfilling than I ever could have expected. Since then, I've been learning and teaching NVC and I am currently in the certification process. I love to contribute to creating spaces where people can meet themselves and others lovingly and mindfully and where personal development is possible.

### CNVC trainer candidate, software engineer, and mother

All my life I have been puzzled about how to speak without attacking or being a doormat when facing another person’s anger. I hate attacking so I most likely either chose to be silent or not knowing what to reply, being unconsciously frozen. I was afraid that what I will speak next will only trigger more pain in the other person and this will trigger more and more paralysing pain in me. I am still wondering how to speak my own truth but not explaining out of the defensive energy. I am still puzzled on how to overcome my story about “It will only make matters worse if I open my mouth” and to have that capacity to speak out the truthness of my heart with compassion. How to take that first step when my heart has shut down towards opening my heart to that light within me again?

I studied NVC since I wanted to understand what walking in love means for me? How I can radiate compassionate presence even when there is a storm inside me. For me, the real freedom is to choose to take one step closer to connection, no matter what I feel: trembling rage or petrifying paralysis, painful guilt or deep shame. Radiating compassion is something I want to remind myself every day. This is how I want to live my life.

I have been organizing Finnish NVC family camps from 2018 - 2021. In these camps it has been deep in my heart to build structures where families will have all the community care and support to attend the NVC sessions and kids having unforgettable memories.

Currently, I am a chairperson in the board of Finland NVC associate, where we long to make NVC events more reachable for Finnish people.

I was a member of the organizing team in IIT Finland Midnight summer 2022. My passion was to create a bubble where participants have a sense that they already belong when they arrive at the IIT. This is my second time organizing IIT and I cannot wait to be part of creating that magical environment where people can meet on that field, feel and being deeply touched by the divine energy.
