Somatic practice for embodying Nonviolent Communication (NVC) increases the capacity to listen empathically and speak your truth authentically with power and compassion. A somatic approach to NVC attunes us to the signals of our bodies and the present, direct, and immediate experience of the life we are living. This is where we come face to face with the history we’ve embodied, our deeper selves, our greatest gifts, and the motivation to grow compassionate ways of being toward a more equitable world." **David Weinstock** is executive director of [Liminal Somatics](http://www.liminalsomatics.com/), an international trainer of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), a Somatic Coach, the originator of Somatic Consensus, and author of the book, *Becoming What You Need: Practices for Embodying Nonviolent Communication*. Woven into his programs are the time-honored lessons of mastery and conflict resolution distilled from the peaceful art of Aikido and forty years of experience as an entrepreneur and master goldsmith. David and his wife, Judith, along with eight other families, co-founded an intentional community where they have raised their family, and where NVC and consensus have been practiced since 1990. They have devoted their adult lives to generating community and committing themselves to an integrated and intentional way of living.
