It's taught me that I do not need to fix other people's feelings but understand them and my own. I see NVC as the path to creating safety, which leads to peace in the world. Living from the awareness of interconnected needs is a radical shift to a world we've never seen, where we all matter and belong." Celia Landman loves writing, meditating, walking in nature, and using humor to connect with others. In 2013 she was ordained by Zen master Thich Nhat Hahn as a member of the Plum Village Community of Engaged Buddhism. She especially enjoys working with teens, parents, and those impacted by trauma and brings her blend of friendliness, humor, and tenderness to help others stay present with difficult emotions. Studying and practicing Nonviolent Communication has helped her heal her own trauma wounds and learn that it is self-care to say, "no." Celia sees Nonviolent Communication training as a path to safety and peace in the world. "For me, I have never experienced such a profound sense of safety, as when I know how to speak up with honesty and empathy." NVC has helped her see that she is loveable and matters and her greatest aspiration is to help others recognize that they are lovable just as they are. She is a mother of two mostly grown children, and the author of a book about emotional balance for parents called When the Whole World Tips: Parenting Through Crisis With Mindfulness and Balance. She is also the servant of two dogs and two cats in Litchfield, CT. > “My mission is to transform systems of oppression, powerlessness, and trauma in families and generational systems through group trainings, and by working one of one. I am especially interested in restoring and nurturing the bonds between generations, parents and children, partners, educational systems and students, as well as management and employees.
