Many of us hold grudges for small grievances. As we do so, even if it feels “right,” we are actually creating our own internal prison — each of these grudges, or blaming thoughts add another bar to our self-made cell, until there is no room for the light to enter.

Individuals such as Nelson Mandela understand the power that lies in letting go of our blame of others, and you could say that by doing so, he was freer than many of us during his 27 years in jail.
