John (M.S. Psychology) has devoted his life and career to the furthering of empathic communication and human connection around the world. He is the co-creator of the international Mediate Your Life Training Program based on the work of Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

He has been a conflict coach and mediator in this approach since 2002. The approach provides skills and conversation “maps” for navigating challenges and conflicts, inner and outer, in all aspects of life. His work with human connection, empathy, mindfulness, and consciousness is part of the global health and wellness movement.

John’s mentor was NVC founder Marshall Rosenberg, a global peacemaker whose work has deeply touched the lives of hundreds of thousands or more in over 70 countries around the world. For almost two decades John has been a leader in the global NVC community.

John worked closely with Marshall for over a decade and has deep knowledge and connection to the practice. John is a co-founder of the Bay Area Nonviolent Communication (BayNVC) and has been a certified trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication since 2000.

I envision a critical mass of individuals, organizations, and institutions around the world communicating with empathy and compassion, and working together to respond to the challenges we face, creating a peaceful, healthy, and sustainable world.
