My NVC journey - that started in 2006 with a desire to find the language of compassion with my young children - has brought me to this place in 2021: to be welcomed into the international NVC community as a certified trainer.

I live in the Top of the South Island of Aoteaora-New Zealand in a community with six households, where NVC has been the glue of our co-operative living for the last 17 years.

Our family grows about 80% of our food (think home-made cheese, bacon and tons of veggies & fruit) and I truly love the connection with the food that nourishes me.
I have been a passionate home-educating mother of our three (now almost grown up) children.

I regularly offer weekend or day-workshop in my local area; either foundation trainings or specific topics (e.g. parenting, empathy). I also enjoy face-to-face coaching, empathy and mediation.

I am one of the facilitators of Ruby Retreat; a recurring monthly 5-day retreat for people who are in recovery from addiction.

As a certified Primal Health Coach, I bring the skills of NVC into my health coaching sessions.

I also appreciate bringing NVC skills into the community in a variety of volunteers roles (eg. firefighting, event organisation, local food coop).

I am the treasurer for the NVC Charitable Trust, which has the lofty ambition of “Compassionate Connection Thriving in Aotearoa-New Zealand”.

But what matters even more than ‘doing’ these things, I live and breathe NVC with a passion. ?
