Valerie Lanctôt-Bédard is the co-founder and partner of Spiralis. She has been working in interpersonal communication and helping relationships since 1998. Certified trainer and certifier of the Center for Nonviolent Communication, she bases her approach on the principles and practices proposed by NonViolent Communication (NVC); a powerful tool for self-awareness and development through our relationships with others. Her approach is also based on the practice of Mindfulness as popularized by Jon Kabat-Zinn and that of reasoned negotiation as taught at the Harvard Project on Negotiation. She is a student of the Diamond Approach at Ridhwan School (Toronto).
Valerie offers public and private training in Authentic Dialogue / NonViolent Communication, she also trains professionals and all intermediaries who work as helpers (mediators, therapists, coaches) to develop their emotional intelligence and thus increase the power and durability of their interventions. She is particularly interested in the intersection of professional and personal development, in the development of interpersonal skills.
Mediator accredited by the Quebec Mediation and Arbitration Institute, Valerie also offers mediation and facilitation services in all areas of work and private life. As a professional coach accredited by the International Coach Federation, she supports people who are going through transitions, who want to evolve and make changes in their lives, who want to improve personal or professional relationships, as well as couples and families in difficulty.
She holds a master’s degree in Dispute Prevention and Resolution (PRD) from the Faculty of Law of the University of Sherbrooke. Her final thesis is entitled: “Neutrality and impartiality of mediators during their interventions: management of emotions? “, and originated a program that she has offered since 2015 at the University of Sherbrooke in continuing education: Management of emotions in dispute resolution.
