##### FROM THE ASSESSOR, [Edith Sauerbier](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/edith-sauerbier)

I had the opportunity to experience Suzana in person during our Mentoring and Assessment in July 2026 in Vlašić, Bosnia. The team consisted of our Assessors-in-Training (AIT), [Marica Lazić](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/marica-lazic) and [Snežana Molnar Jokić](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/snezana-molnar-jokic), together with [Doris Schwab](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/doris-schwab) and me. I greatly enjoyed the ease of connecting with Suzana in English. I felt completely free and relaxed in my contact with her, without any expectations, tension, or hidden agendas. I was grateful for this experience, and to me it reflected that she had done deep inner work and was grounded in her own sovereignty.

During her assessment, she facilitated an exercise with the whole group on self-care. She introduced the metaphor of a traffic light and guided us in recognizing when we are entering the "yellow zone." I appreciated her vivid and engaging way of expressing herself, combining vulnerability, humor, and knowledge. In her pre-assessment, which we held online, she demonstrated genuine curiosity and a strong willingness to learn. This left me feeling completely at ease in supporting her certification as a CNVC Certified Trainer.

I am confident that Suzana will enrich the trainer community in the Balkans through her aliveness, her embodied practice of Nonviolent Communication, and her deep commitment to contributing to peace and reconciliation in her home region. As I am the formal Assessor, while Snezana and Marica know her better, there will be some lines from them too as recommendations for Suzana:

From [Marica Lazić](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/marica-lazic): Like Edith, I also have a wholehearted YES to Suzana's certification as a CNVC Certified Trainer. Having accompanied Suzana throughout her development journey, I have had the privilege of witnessing her grow with patience, groundedness, and a genuine openness to learning. At every stage of the process, she showed a willingness to meet herself honestly and to allow herself to grow at her own pace. What I especially appreciate in Suzana is that she did not strive to appear perfect, but instead had the courage to be authentic. This authenticity allowed me to trust her deeply and wholeheartedly.

She approached each responsibility and task with openness, curiosity, and a strong sense of commitment. At the same time, she engaged in deep and honest inner work and showed a genuine willingness to receive feedback, reflect on it, and take responsibility for her own development. I sincerely believe that Suzana is ready to step into the role of a CNVC Certified Trainer. It has been a great pleasure and honor to accompany her on her journey and to offer her support along the way.

[From Snežana Molnar Jokić](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/snezana-molnar-jokic):

I first met Suzana at the first Mentoring Assessment Days (MAD) in 2023. From our very first meeting until today, I have experienced ease in communicating with her and in building mutual trust. It has been a pleasure to witness both her personal and professional growth, as well as the way she has integrated the principles of Nonviolent Communication into her work and relationships. I have had the opportunity to observe Suzana in a variety of roles: as a MAD participant, a participant in NVC training, a trainer facilitating workshops, and a trainer coordinating an NVC practice group. In each of these roles, she consistently demonstrated commitment to the learning process, responsibility, authenticity, and the ability to create an atmosphere of safety and connection. This fostered in me a sense of trust and reinforced my appreciation for the contribution she brings to our community.

I would especially like to acknowledge her willingness and dedication throughout the preparation of her pre-assessment documentation. Her thoroughness, openness to collaboration, and responsible approach contributed to my experience of clarity, ease, and confidence in our shared process. I wholeheartedly support the recommendations already expressed by my colleagues, Edith and Marica, and I confidently recommend Suzana for CNVC certification. I believe that, as a Certified Trainer in Nonviolent Communication, she will make a meaningful contribution to the continued learning, development, and growth of the NVC community in the Balkans.

From suzana:

My journey with Nonviolent Communication began in 2014, when I completed my basic mediation training. It was then that I first discovered how a conversation can transform relationships. Working with people, I gradually became aware that every conflict holds much more than what is visible on the surface. I wanted to understand what lies behind people's words and actions and how genuine connection can be restored. A turning point came in 2021 when I met my first CNVC Certified Trainer. What initially seemed like another training soon became a different way of seeing myself, other people, and relationships. Step by step, I came to realize that Nonviolent Communication is not simply a communication model or a set of tools, but a way of living that invites presence, authenticity, and continuous learning.

As my journey unfolded, I became increasingly aware of changes in the way I listened, communicated, and approached conflict. At the same time, I found a community of people who share similar values. Through trainings, international gatherings, and learning together, I developed friendships and close relationships that have deeply enriched my life and become an important part of both my personal and professional growth. These relationships have continually reminded me that growth takes on a new dimension when it is shared with others.

Gradually, Nonviolent Communication became an integral part of my professional work. I began integrating it into mediation, training, and educational programs with schools, companies, and other organizations. Time and again, I have witnessed how conversations change when people are given space to be truly heard and when feelings and needs behind different perspectives become visible.

For me, the Certification Process was a natural continuation of the path I had already been walking. It invited me to deepen my practice, reflect on everyday experiences, and learn through my encounters with people. Feedback from participants, colleagues, and trainers reminded me that the deepest learning happens in authentic relationships, mutual support, and our willingness to remain open to one another. The certification process offered me not only professional development, but also a deeper understanding of myself and of how I want to contribute to the community.

Today, I see Nonviolent Communication not primarily as something I teach, but as a way of life that I practice every day. Becoming a Certified Trainer did not mark the end of my learning; rather, it affirmed my commitment to the values I strive to live and share with others. It encourages me to continue contributing to the growth of Nonviolent Communication, nurturing community, and creating spaces where people can meet themselves and one another with greater understanding, compassion, and connection.

### [Astha Agarwal (India)](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/astha-agarwal)

##### FROM THE ASSESSOR, [Stephanie Bachmann Mattei](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/stephanie-bachmann-mattei)

I am thrilled to present to you Astha Agarwal as a newly Certified Trainer from India. Originally from Jaipur, Astha has been dedicating her life to understanding and deepening, the practice of conflict transformation and peacebuilding since the age of 19. Astha worked in NGOs, designing and facilitating programs focused on youth leadership and development, social justice, peace and harmony for years before encountering NVC.

Astha's involvement with NVC started in 2019 while seeking direction during a time when she was actively involved in developing interventions to respond to the growing polarization across political lines and identity-based conflicts in the country. We met at an IIT in 2024, and have been walking together on the certification path since then.

I have consistently witnessed Astha's capacity for self-inquiry in order to bring greater awareness and understanding to her habits, behaviors, and beliefs, and do so while nurturing self-compassion. Reclaiming and staying in her power has been a journey in its own right. I am inspired by seeing Astha's dedication to making NVC accessible to young people and families, and to share the practice in Hindi, her mother tongue. Please join me in welcoming Astha into our network.

From Astha:

I came to Nonviolent Communication (NVC) through my work in the social justice space, and through a growing awareness of something that felt missing within me. "We don't make change happen. We let it happen. If there is one thing we want to do in service of life, it is to get out of the way." I don't remember the exact words anymore. I remember thinking something like this while reading a book that left a lasting impression on me. It was as if the whole world stopped for me.

For over a decade, I worked in the social development sector in India, designing and facilitating interventions for youth leadership, mindset shifts, and dialogue for peace and harmony. Working with young people and grassroots communities deepened my understanding of how larger systems shape our lives, relationships and choices. At the same time, I was experiencing a sense of hollowness within myself. The felt sense was of endlessly going against the tide, of meeting force with more force. My heart was closing down. I wondered, Why am I so drained when this is the work I chose?

This inquiry took me deeper into inner and interpersonal transformation. It was during this time that I found NVC and, in more ways than I can name here, it helped me find my way back to my heart. I began to see what it could mean to embody the change I wished to contribute to. One of the most precious gifts of this journey has been reclaiming choice and inner power. Practicing NVC has supported me to gently risk showing up as I am, choosing to keep my heart open and growing my trust in life.

I connect deeply with seeing our needs as life energy moving through each one of us: life continually seeking to move towards life. Connecting with this life energy supports us to step into our power and allows our natural compassion to flourish. The Certification Process has been integral to this journey. It brought rigour to reconnecting with the consciousness and asking what it means to live from it, particularly in moments of discomfort and not knowing. It has invited me towards greater honesty, receiving feedback while staying connected with my discernment, and taking responsibility for my choices and learning.

I am deeply grateful to Stephanie for walking alongside me and modelling a form of leadership I deeply admire. While present at every step, she accompanied me in a way that allowed me to experience true ownership of my journey. I felt supported without being led, and trusted to stand in my own knowing. Nonviolent Communication (NVC) has also deeply shaped my inquiry into families. Through my work with young people and challenges in my own family, I saw how profoundly our earliest relationships shape the stories we carry about ourselves, others and the world. I found myself thinking, As long as our families remain battlegrounds, it is hard to imagine peace in the world.

This inquiry became Reimagining Family, through which I explore what it might take for families to become places of both belonging and the freedom to be ourselves. Alongside this, I offer one to one coaching and group facilitation. I am particularly drawn to working with people longing for greater self and interpersonal leadership, social change leaders seeking to contribute from a place of wholeness, and people wanting to engage in dialogue across differences.

Today, a central inquiry in my work is how we might bridge inner and outer transformation and engage with change at personal, interpersonal and systemic levels. 'How do we work towards social change without reproducing within ourselves and our relationships the very patterns of domination, disconnection and force that we wish to transform?' My dream is of a world that works for ALL BEINGS, supporting us to continually align and realign ourselves with the flow of life, individually and collectively. I hope to live my life and share NVC in service of this dream.

### [Jérome Goudé (France)](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/jerome-goude)

##### FROM THE ASSESSOR, [Laure Galvez](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/laure-galvez)

**\[EN\]** We appreciate that Jérôme has learned Nonviolent Communication (NVC) at his own pace and has taken the time to internalize the process, which gives us confidence in the depth of his understanding and practice today. Jérôme enjoys sharing NVC based on his own life experiences, whether as a parent, as a spouse, or as a caregiver (in his work as a physio). He enjoys co-facilitating and has a great ability to reflect on himself, recognize his limitations, and ask for support (e.g., during co-facilitation or from his peers) in order to serve the trainees.

His mentor acknowledges his calmness, honesty, humility, and his ability for honest expression as well as his capacity for régulation within the French NVC& Health network. We are grateful for his contribution and his spirit of companionship in service of the collective, particularly within the French NVC& Health Network, a field in which he wishes to continue working toward social change. Jérôme also works in the field of couples counseling.

##### From Jérome:

**\[EN\]** Throughout this certification journey, I was able to progress at my own pace while continuing to work as a physiotherapist. I had the opportunity to meet many Certified Trainers who inspired me through the way they shared their knowledge and helped me find my own voice and identify the areas in which I want to contribute. This is how healthcare and relationships naturally emerged as the fields that felt right for me. They are meaningful to me, and I feel a genuine sense of legitimacy when sharing my knowledge and experience in these two areas.

Beyond the learning itself, this certification gave me a deeper awareness of what I was experiencing. It profoundly transformed the way I see myself and others, as well as the way I interact with them. I enjoy both receiving and offering feedback as a means of supporting growth. I can see how far I have come compared with the educational system I experienced at school when I was younger. In France, and I believe in the United States as well, the pathway is evolving. A common core curriculum for “Recognized Practitioners” will soon be introduced, this will allow participants’ acquired skills and knowledge to be formally recognized within their professional fields and will, I hope, help bring about the social change to which I aspire.

### [Raf Poggi (United Kingdom)](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/raf-poggi)

##### FROM THE ASSESSOR, [Shona Cameron](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/shona-cameron)

Raf reminded me that we first met online during COVID. From the very beginning, I have been inspired by and celebrated what I see as her deep commitment to Marshall Rosenberg and his teachings. Raf is guided by a strong sense of purpose and a lifelong commitment to a meaningful path of service to others. She brings a wealth of experience as a doctor, a manager of people, and a mentor and teacher of doctors within the UK health service. She has generously brought these gifts into the Nonviolent Communication community of trainers AND will take her Nonviolent Communication (NVC) skills into our health service: Yay!

In her medical practice, she shines as an example of compassionate leadership, supporting and inspiring others through both her presence and her actions. Over the years, Raf and I have stayed engaged in the sometimes challenging and rewarding work of seeing one another as equals. Her perseverance, openness to growth, and willingness to learn have made it a genuine joy to witness her development and walk alongside her on this journey.

From raf:

I never expected a communication model to become one of my most trusted traveling companions. When Nonviolent Communication (NVC) entered my life in 2019 through the teachings of Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, I thought I was learning a new way to communicate. What I didn't expect was that I was beginning a journey of discovering myself, others, and the surprising beauty of being human. For that, I carry deep gratitude for Marshall and the gift he offered the world through NVC.

As a frontline clinician (especially during the pandemic), NVC became much more than a set of skills. On difficult days, it helped me look beyond fear, frustration, and exhaustion to the humanity underneath. It reminded me that even when people were speaking the language of panic, anger, or despair, they were often expressing universal needs for safety, care, understanding, and hope. NVC helped me keep my heart open when it would have been easier to close it.

My decision to pursue certification came from a desire to share NVC with integrity and to help keep Marshall's vision alive. I wanted to offer something more than techniques: I wanted to embody the consciousness that makes NVC so transformative. I am especially grateful to Shona Cameron, whose mentorship over the past years has been both grounding and inspiring. With warmth, wisdom, and the occasional gentle challenge, she helped me stay connected to the essence of NVC and supported me through the many twists and turns of this journey.

Looking back, certification feels a bit like setting out on a quest only to discover that the treasure map leads back to yourself. Along the way, I learned that I belong to a global community of wonderfully imperfect people who are courageously choosing connection over separation and compassion over blame. I also discovered that support seems to appear whenever I am willing to ask for it. Certification is not the finish line. It is simply the next step in a lifelong adventure of living and sharing NVC, one conversation, one connection, and occasionally one giraffe-ear-at-a-time.

### [Alex Hanly (United Kingdom)](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/alex-hanly)

##### FROM THE ASSESSOR, [Dionne Verbeet](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/dionne-verbeet)

In these few months, I’ve seen her take so many steps to deepen her integration of Nonviolent Communication (NVC). There has been such openness, and I’ve had the privilege of witnessing so many qualities and talents—and I’m quite sure there are many more I’m unaware of. All of this has been accompanied by an incredible amount of energy. If I were to describe Alex in one word, it would be bubbling.

I expect Alex herself to share about her actions and aspirations in relation to social change. I would simply like to highlight some of the bubbles that I’m aware as a way to express the enthusiasm that is stirred in me: whether in the steering group of the NVC Caravan, the involvement in data gathering with NVC Matters UK, her work as a family mediator, yoga teacher, NVC trainer, or through her gifts as an actor bringing NVC to the theatre...and in addition to this, she shared about ideas for a storybook, songs, and more...hence my word bubbling. I’m celebrating the richness you have already brought, and I look forward to all the ripple effects that will continue to grow from your inspiration, creativity, and aspirations.

From Alex:

As the daughter of an Irish publican, I grew up with a raw, front-row seat to human conflict. In my parents' pubs, I saw how so much of our pain stems from a simple failure to be heard. Time and again, I witnessed people fighting for the same things—recognition, belonging, connection to name a few—but lacking the tools to find them.

This memory followed me through years of work as an actor and theatre maker, creating community cohesion projects and working alongside adults with learning disabilities and autism. I saw how embodied creativity and authentic expression could unlock healing when words alone failed. This understanding deepened in my training as a Yoga Therapist, where I learned how the body holds trauma, how regulation helps prevent present stress from becoming chronic, and how a settled nervous system allows new possibilities to emerge.

These threads eventually led me to Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and Training as a Family Mediator. This NVC Journey began 10 years ago on a foundation day. About 7 years ago, when I was 3 years into the parenting ride, NVC became a lifeline for me to be the parent I long to be, and it still is. 3 years ago, when I had begun my certification journey, I met the most incredible 5 women in my candidate development pod, and I have been amazed by the depth of friendship and companionship we have created for one another. I didn't think friendship like this could be forged without lifelong accompaniment; I am happy to dispel that untruth. Along the way, I have had the joy of working with many great trainers, from [Daren De Witt](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/daren-de-witt) to [Gina Lawrie](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/gina-lawrie) and [Ceri Buckmaster](https://www.cnvc.org/Glenn%20Treacy). I joined the NVC UK community and have begun to lead a project to improve NVC's visibility and funding strength in the UK. I joined the steering committee on the Eu Caravan with [Glenn Treacy](https://www.cnvc.org/Glenn%20Treacy) and Giel de Kimpe and we are working to improve this annual gathering and focus on CPD and applied NVC in organizations.

NVC has deepened my understanding of what's possible when people truly hear themselves and each other. This Journey has been a self-reflective and expansive time of growth for me, my family and my work. I have made such meaningful connections with myself, my husband, my children, my candidate development pod, my Assessors Shona Cameron and [Dionne Verbeet](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/dionne-verbeet), and my community and work. I am very excited to be a part of this community and contribute to Peace. I look forward to the journey continuing to unfold.

### [Fabienne Ramirez (France)](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/fabienne-ramirez)

##### FROM THE ASSESSOR, [Laure Galvez](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/laure-galvez)

**\[EN\]** Fabienne’s mentor appreciates her energy, her infectious joy, her perseverance, and her desire to learn and grow, as well as her ability to reflect on her own performance. We appreciate how Fabienne learns from every facilitation experience—whether from the positive experiences she celebrates or from the more challenging ones—and how she draws new insights from them (such as clearly setting the framework, asking for resources or support, etc.)

We celebrate her progress in integrating the Nonviolent Communication (NVC) process, particularly her ability to stay attuned to needs, allowing things to emerge organically from there. We witness how Fabienne lives out NVC both in her personal life (relationship, which is straightforward) and in her professional life, and we celebrate with her the growth she has gained from it. She draws on the NVC process for her own discernment in connection with her Christian faith, which helps her support young professionals, couples, and mentors within the Christian community.

##### From Fabienne:

Since 2012, Nonviolent Communication (NVC) has deeply transformed my life, both personally and professionally. I first discovered this approach to better understand and manage my emotions, particularly my anger, which I called my "Hulk side." NVC has helped me move beyond judgments, clarify my needs, and adopt empathetic listening—with myself, my family, and in both personal and professional activities.

My training journey has been rich and diverse: I have completed nearly 200 days of workshops, assistantships, and co-facilitation, covering foundational modules, advanced topics (such as anger, guilt, empathy, and authentic expression), and an extensive training program on individual support, as well as sessions dedicated to introduction to NVC . I also participated in an IIT (International Intensive Training) in Germany in 2025, where I explored themes like conflict resolution and spirituality.

I have gained experience by leading sessionss for diverse audiences, such as "Cultivating Peace with NVC." I have progressed from assisting to co-facilitating and then to independent trainings, always adapting my approach to the context and the audience (whether large or small groups, or specific communities like Christian same-sex couples). NVC is now deeply rooted in my daily life: I use it to manage conflicts in meetings, support my daughter during difficult times, and create listening circles in my parish. I have also developed social projects, such as workshops linking NVC and Christian faith, or sessions for young people in discernment.

Today, I see the richness of the certification path to become a trainer and the journey it has allowed me to take, with training sessions dedicated to transmitting NVC, always based on extensive practice, assistantships, and co-facilitation. These experiences have enabled me to put NVC into practice, experiment, and live it within the framework of training and transmission. Facilitating a practice group has offered a space for experimentation and sharing, while the support and feedback from my mentors, certified trainers, and assessors have been invaluable. The pedagogical dossier has allowed me to work on key differentiations, major themes, and build adaptive teaching methods, consolidating my experiences and feedbacks. Finally, I have gradually integrated into the network of fellow travelers and then the network of NVC trainers (local team in Île-de-France, and now the national team). My goal now is to transmit NVC with authenticity, clarity, and compassion, while continuing to learn and grow.

##### FROM THE ASSESSOR, [Ian Peatey](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/ian-peatey)

I experience Marcin as someone who embodies the spirit of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in deep ways. From living deeply rooted in nature, sharing through demonstrating rather than teaching and connected to a quiet passion for the work. He doesn't shout his message, but whispers it quietly in a way that draws people to him. I am delighted to welcome him into the NVC community of trainers.

From Marcin:

My journey with Nonviolent Communication (NVC) began with a single workshop that very quickly became something much larger. I remember clearly that even then, a dream appeared in me: I want to lead such gatherings one day and share this with others. I did not yet know what the path would look like or where it would take me, but I felt I had found a direction I had been searching for. Since that time, several years have passed. They have been filled with meetings, conversations, moments of awe, doubts, and returning again and again to simple questions: what am I feeling now, what do I need, and what is happening in the other person? With each experience, it became clearer to me that NVC is not a set of techniques or a method of conversation. It became a language that helps me look at the world with more gentleness and curiosity.

This path has led me through many different places and relationships. I learned from trainers, from friends, from people I met at workshops, but also from my own children, from conflicts, and from moments when I was not able to be the person I wanted to be. Paradoxically, it was often these more difficult moments that gave me the most. They reminded me that empathy is about willing to return to connection again and again. Over time, the dream that appeared during that first workshop gradually began to become reality. I started facilitating workshops and creating spaces where people can pause for a moment, hear one another, and discover that behind every judgment, anger, or fear there is something deeply human. Each time I see relief in participants’ eyes, I am reminded why I chose this path.

I see the Certification Process as another stage of this journey. Not as a finish line or proof of worth, but as a commitment to continued growth, deeper practice, and responsibility for what I offer to others. I want my actions to remain aligned with the values that are important to me: authenticity, respect, freedom, and care for life. Looking back, I see that the greatest change is not in the skills I have gained. The greatest change is in the way I meet another human being. With more humility, more attentiveness, and more hope that even in the most difficult conversation, a path toward mutual understanding can be found. It is this hope that continues to guide me every day.

I first met Michael Bauer in 2020 when he entered the CNVC Certification process. Michael is deeply committed to working with fathers and men. He brings a wealth of personal experience to this work and uses it to support others on their own journeys.

What I particularly appreciate is Michael’s dedication to making Nonviolent Communication (NVC) accessible to people who are often not reached by traditional educational programs. Through his clear, practical, and down-to-earth way of communicating, he is able to connect with people who may not naturally relate to more theoretical approaches.

I am especially touched by Michael’s ability to reach people who might otherwise never encounter Nonviolent Communication, yet could benefit greatly from it. I consider his contribution valuable and important, and I am delighted to welcome Michael Bauer into the circle of Certified Trainers. I trust that he will continue to share Nonviolent Communication with integrity, commitment, and authenticity.

from Michael:

**\[EN\]** When I discovered Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in 2016 as a single father, I asked myself, “Why isn’t anyone doing this already?” At the time, I felt completely overwhelmed and was gradually losing my connection with my children. One of my children took the separation particularly hard and very personally. He expressed his pain in ways that I would not describe as life-serving. Out of respect for my son, I do not wish to go into further detail. I no longer knew what to do. It was at precisely that moment that a book about Nonviolent Communication came into my life.

I wanted to be there for my children while also respecting my own boundaries and providing them with guidance. Yet I had no idea how to make that work. I realised that threats and punishment only pushed us further apart. At the same time, when I said nothing and set no boundaries, my children lacked the stability and guidance they needed.

Our conversations kept repeating themselves like a record stuck in the same groove. Through Nonviolent Communication, I eventually found an answer to the question of how I could truly see my children and be there for them without losing sight of myself. I learned not to blame them for the fact that I had no time for myself, that I did everything for them and received no gratitude in return, or to burden them with all the other thoughts that were running through my mind at the time.

Along my journey with Nonviolent Communication, I have had the opportunity not only to learn a great deal and support many people, but also to reconnect with myself and gradually become whole again. What means the most to me is that I was also able to offer my children, even though two of them were already older, a new perspective on the world, on other people and, above all, on themselves.

This is still where my heart leads me today: supporting fathers and men facing challenging family and relationship situations through Nonviolent Communication. I am delighted to be part of the international NVC community, and I am grateful for the trust placed in me to share Nonviolent Communication in my own grounded, authentic and practical way.

I have known Øyvind for nearly 10 years, and we have had several Nonviolent Communication (NVC) activities together in Norway. Only last year, in November, did he become my candidate, after Shona Cameron stepped down. She was his Assessor since 2017. Øyvind has a lot of passion for NVC; he has created a year-long program in his workplace and made NVC one of the main pillars of this workplace. It is a center in Oslo for former addicts who want to come back to a sober life. It has been a joy meeting these people, realizing how much NVC has helped them with self-empathy, communication skills, and dignity.

Øyvind has gone through some difficult times in his private life, and still he has managed to continue on the journey to certification. His energy, his active engagement, and ability to build networks are some of the skills I really appreciate about Øyvind. He will definitely be a gift to our local Norwegian community.

##### from Øyvind:

My journey with Nonviolent Communication (NVC) has been long, demanding, and deeply transformative. From the beginning, I felt that NVC touched something essential in me: a way of understanding human beings, conflict, pain, and connection that I had been searching for. At the same time, the path toward certification has not been easy.

It has taken me nine years from the beginning of my journey to this point. During that time, I almost gave up twice. There were moments when the process felt lonely, unclear, and difficult to navigate. I mourn that the certification path can feel very theoretical, and that it seems better suited to some learning styles and personality types than others. At times, I struggled to find myself in the process, and I wished there had been more support for people who learn through practice, leadership, experimentation, and lived integration.

Eventually, I had to find my own way through. Although this was difficult, it also became one of the most meaningful parts of my journey. Going alone meant going deeper. It required me to integrate NVC not only as a model or a set of concepts, but as a way of living, leading, relating, and meeting myself and others. The struggle forced me to become more honest about my own needs, my patterns, my longing for contribution, and my commitment to this work.

Today, I celebrate that I stayed with it. I celebrate my perseverance, my dedication, and the fact that I found a path that was truly mine. The certification process has shown me that I am in this for the long run. NVC is not simply something I want to teach; it is something I want to keep embodying, developing, and contributing to for the rest of my life.

**\[EN\]** We are inspired by how Camille stays connected to her inner life force, even in the face of challenges, and we appreciate the time she has taken for her journey towards certification and how she organically integrates the Nonviolent Communication (NVC) process, embracing her reality and respecting her own pace. We see how deeply she experiences her challenges as fertile ground for integrating NVC; Camille dares to take risks as a facilitator by listening to her intuition, letting go of the belief she has to be perfect, and being a live example of vulnerability in her teaching. We really appreciate how she finds ways to live and share NVC with integrity.

In her professional life, Camille practices NVC as a healthcare provider and speech-language pathologist, particularly with people who stutter. NVC also helps her embody her role as a teacher at the speech-language pathology school. She is eager to continue contributing to social change in this field and, more broadly, in the healthcare sector, by taking into account the perspectives of both patients and caregivers (speech-language pathology school, caregiver associations, etc.).

from Camille:

**\[EN\]** I discovered Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in 2014. At the time, I was looking for ways to express myself “nicely” and develop my communication skills. As a speech-language pathologist, I wanted to be better equipped to address the relational aspects of communication, beyond its more “technical” dimensions. What I discovered went far beyond what I had initially come to learn. NVC set in motion a profound inner transformation. I learned to be less “nice,” while developing greater intimacy and peace with myself and with others. Since then, I have continued to practise NVC, seeking to integrate it more deeply and embody it more fully, so that I could engage with its philosophical, political, and spiritual dimensions.

In 2020, I decided to embark on the Certification Process. I wanted to deepen my integration of NVC, meet inspiring people, and practise alongside them. And, of course, it was important to me to be able to share NVC with the same richness and vitality that I had experienced during the training workshops. The journey was deeply enriching, shaped by workshops, opportunities to assist trainers, and meaningful encounters. I was fortunate to be supported by Karin Ferfers, who served as my certification mentor. Through her, I discovered what becomes possible in the presence of trust. It is a reassuring presence that fosters autonomy and enables us to grow into our full potential, while remaining a place to which we naturally want to return to reflect and share both our joys and our sorrows.

During my certification journey, I had the responsibility of serving as the primary contact for Acertif’s Certification Candidates’ circle for more than a year and a half. This experience deeply grounded me in the collective dimension of NVC. I greatly valued the opportunity to live NVC within the organisation and in my relationships with the people who make it what it is. Today, my strongest desire is to contribute within the healthcare sector, particularly by supporting healthcare professionals. Those who care for others too often forget to care for themselves. I want to support them so that they can continue to find fulfilment in their work and remain closely attuned to their patients, within relationships built on genuine partnership. I also want to share NVC through my professional work with people who stutter and with their families.
