##### from the assessor, [Benedikt Loser](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/benedikt-loser)

Pablo Faria's journey with me began in 2021. In early 2022, I registered him. From the very beginning, he showed a willingness to engage in deep learning processes. In our intensive collaboration every two weeks, Pablo developed:

- a more precise, shorter language – less explanation, more essence;
- the ability to lead self-empathy processes safely and effectively;
- confidence in stepping into empathic role plays that bring both learning experience and healing;
- the capacity to facilitate groups securely, both online and in person;
- the ability to hold himself emotionally, even in challenging phases, maintaining and (re)establishing connection;
- stepping out of the Assessor’s shadow – neither inflated nor diminished – but appearing as an equal, clear, and supportive presence.

Milestones were his participation in the Mentoring and Assessment Days 2024 in Switzerland, training contacts in November 2024 in Switzerland, as well as our joint training in Brazil in April 2025. I recommend Pablo as a trainer with deep conviction. A person who not only conveys content but lives Nonviolent Communication consciousness – and is able to transmit it. Congratulations from the heart, Pablo. May our journey together continue.

##### from Pablo:

I discovered NVC in mid-2019, at the suggestion of my partner. At the time, I was having great difficulty communicating in one of my most sensitive personal relationships. As I learned more about NVC, my identification with its purpose and principles deepened. It also brought me clarity about the dynamics of connection and disconnection that I had long yearned for.

I had always seen myself as someone willing to talk, open, and understanding. Despite this, I found myself in a painful conflict in this personal relationship and did not understand why. With NVC, I quickly understood how much I contributed to the conflicts and how violent my communication could also be. Impacted by this understanding, I immersed myself in the study and practice of NVC intensely. The Covid-19 pandemic came along, and this study became largely self-taught.

In 2021, I began giving introductory trainings, and since then I have had hundreds of participants in my trainings. At the end of 2021, I learned about the Certification Process and decided to seek an Assessor, even though I did not meet the minimum requirements suggested by [the Certification Preparation Packet (CPP)](https://www.cnvc.org/certification/cpp). I wrote to a few Assessors, selecting names based on pure intuition. To my delight, I received a positive response from [Benedikt Loser](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/benedikt-loser), who was interested in establishing a dialogue with me about my interest and experience with NVC.

After three or four months of getting to know each other better, we decided to start the Certification Process. Since then, we have had a wonderful partnership for more than three years, with meetings almost every two weeks, in which Benedikt's mentoring was crucial for me to deepen my understanding, my teaching, and, most importantly, my living of NVC. We have developed a relationship of great respect, admiration, and mutual affection. We also feel a great connection in the way we view NVC.

In a delicate and attentive way, Benedikt helped me identify important edges for my growth. He made every effort to reduce the impact of physical distance and language, organizing an English training in Switzerland in 2024 so that I could participate, and also coming to Brazil in 2025 with Assessor [Patricia Walker](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/patricia-walker) to conduct a 3-day immersive training together, where we had my final assessment. I am deeply grateful for this process, and living and sharing NVC brings me indescribable personal fulfillment.

##### FROM THE ASSESSOR, [Gerardo Sánchez](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/gerardo-sanchez-lozano)

I had the privilege of participating in a training session facilitated by Pati early in her Certification Process. This was quite unusual, as most of the candidates I work with live in different cities than mine. Even in that first session, I was impressed by the level of integration Pati already had with Nonviolent Communication (NVC), despite being at the beginning of her journey. Her facilitation stood out for its sensitivity, the clarity and precision with which she presented concepts, and the presence and empathy she demonstrated in both the exercises she led and her responses to participants’ questions.

Throughout her process, I witnessed not only her growth in these areas but also her personal development as she integrated NVC into her personal life. I greatly value her honesty, openness, and vulnerability, qualities she demonstrates in her relationship with herself and in her interactions with me and others. I have no doubt that Pati will continue to bring NVC to the world in a way that is clear, effective, and warm, always in harmony with NVC principles and consciousness, which I think she embodies.

From Patricia:

**\[EN\]** I started with NVC 15 years ago, when I discovered the book [Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life ](https://www.cnvc.org/store/nonviolent-communication-a-language-of-life)at my daughter’s school. From that moment on, I had the feeling that I had found a treasure. I first trained in Madrid and then in Catalonia with different trainers, especially [Constanza Echevarría](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/constanza-echevarria-arevalo), [Amalasiri Murcia](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/amalasiri-murcia), and [Helen Adamson](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/helen-adamson), over four years in a residential program that included six gatherings per year.

Since then, I began to realize that, in addition to my commitment to writing, I wanted to dedicate myself to sharing NVC—and that making it my profession was both a dream and a deep desire. Since 2019, I have been offering trainings to individuals, groups, collectives, organizations, families, and schools. It brings me great joy to think that I am contributing to quality relationships and a world where everyone’s needs matter.

When I began the Certification Process, for me it was both a journey and a place: a path of learning, and a space of recognition, community, and support. I live in a community with six other families, and NVC is one of the pillars of how we live together. For me, NVC is a tool for relational transformation, responsibility, and freedom. It has been very helpful for getting to know myself better and connecting more deeply with others and with life itself—in the desire to create relationships in which I matter and others matter to me.

**\[EN\]** With great pleasure, I introduce our colleague and friend, Luisita to our group of Certified Trainers. We celebrated her assessment last September during our mentoring and assessment days in Tuscany. It was the culmination of a shared journey that began in 2021 with her registration as a Certification Candidate.

Accompanying Luisita in this process was like embarking on an intensive journey, marked by her extraordinary and deep desire to grow. A journey in which she was able to combine, in a unique way, depth, personal development, and connection, while always maintaining joy and lightness. I found these same elements in her self-presentation, which I strongly encourage you to read!

From Luisita:

**\[EN\]** In the practice and spirituality of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), the question that has been with me since I was a teenager—“how to practically live compassion in my life without getting lost in it?”—found a home. In NVC, I find a profound sense of humanity, connection, shared human power, openness, lively exploration, and creativity that generates new, unforeseen possibilities. This tapping into the continuous possibilities held in reality through the NVC process excites me, offers vision, and becomes future. I love exploring it and sharing it with children, young people, teachers, parents, social workers, health care workers, those who work in care environments, work teams—anyone who wants to bring attention to their way of communicating and create more harmony and connection in relating to themselves and others.

I have trained and work in the pedagogical and social environment as a “joy and wonder pedagogue” and as a Sprizz clown. I have worked as a doctor-clown in various hospitals in northern Italy and India. I have been a creator and facilitator of workshops for children and adults since 2004. After years of social work, the fortuitous encounter with NVC in 2013 enlightened and empowered the sunny side of life: joy, wonder, gratitude, empathy. At the same time, it accompanied me in honoring and celebrating the shadow side as well: labors, sorrows, conflicts.

In 2015–16, I attended the MYL “Mediate Your Life” training, gaining valuable tools for dialogue facilitation and conflict mediation, seeing them as possibilities for deeper connection and access to additional points of view and feeling. From there, NVC awareness became a great support in group facilitation and in my daily life, which changed abruptly due to my parents' illness. Experiencing vulnerability and care at home has deeply enriched and deepened my feeling. Without that experience, I would have lost so many nuances of the word *love*: gentleness, sweetness, silence, listening, presence, calm, waiting, trust in the unseen... In fact, after those five years of life, I accompany not only groups but also individuals, and I have a particular propensity for the Mourning Circle—for celebrating and letting grief be, together...

In 2021, I decided to embark on the certification path because, after years of engagement with NVC, I felt the time was ripe for me to marry with the spirit of compassion, with the practice of Nonviolence. The certification path and being in the community has supported me in growing, in learning, in kneading NVC with my cells, in finding myself in my natural, living, empathic, powerful language, in expressing vulnerability, in focusing on goals, in letting go of the grip of old patterns, in marrying my responsibility.

Feelings and needs are deep friends in my daily life. With joy to explore and a dash of art (singing, playing, colors, movement, poetry, dance, picture books, working with fairy tales), I offer pathways on the various aspects of NVC. I am characterized by an informal, playful, and creative style. Sharing and savoring the essence of NVC through games and artistic practices excites me. I find much inspiration in Joseph Campbell's phrase: *“Do nothing but play.”*

I feel immense gratitude toward [Marshall Rosenberg ](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/deceased/marshall-rosenberg)for all that he left us. I feel deeply honored to be one of the many heirs who continue to carry him into the world, nurturing social change starting from the small daily gesture, giving attention to connection, caring for the word and its intent. I consider it a gift to accompany and support us as humans on the journey of building a new Earth, where sisterhood and brotherhood are at home—a hospitable place for every human being.

##### FROM THE ASSESSORS, [Laurence Bruschweiler](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/laurence-bruschweiler) & [Vinciane Marliere ](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/vinciane-marliere)

Clémentine's Nonviolent Communication (NVC) journey has enabled her to experience the power of authentic expression, right up to the point of setting limits and accepting the consequences.

We recognize her qualities of empathy, humility, and gentleness in relationships. Her experience in a social center has made her aware of the loneliness of women and the importance of solidarity. Her project is to combine solidarity and parenthood within a parents' center, and she is involved in a collective project to set up a café solidaire in her village.

From Clémentine:

**\[EN\]** I chose to enter the Certification Process when I was 29 years old. At the time, I was working in a community center, supporting parents experiencing poverty and isolation. With my team, we built relationships of trust and safety with these individuals and shared workshops with them focused on relationships. The Certification Process supported me in integrating Nonviolent Communication, living it, and putting it in service of humanity. Today, I continue to have a special affinity for parenting and keep exploring the paths of consciousness.

##### FROM THE ASSESSOR, [Cate Crombie](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/cate-crombie)

I have known Cecile since July 2020. Her first language is French, and she is a French Speech Language Therapist. However, Cecile has been living in Auckland, New Zealand, with her husband and two children since 2012. Even though English is not her mother tongue and she shared that she is more at ease in French, Cecile has impressed me with her capacity to live, know, and offer Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in English as well as French.

When I first connected with Cecile, she had already been learning and practicing NVC for nearly 4 years. Our Candidate and Assessor relationship now spans nearly 5 years, and I am delighted to recommend Cecile for certification. I want to thank my fellow New Zealand Certified Trainers colleagues, [Deb Hipperson](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/deb-hipperson) and [Wayne Prince](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/wayne-prince), who have been mentoring Cecile for many years. It was their recommendation for her to register as a candidate with me. It has been an honour and a privilege for me to get to know Cecile over time and through them.

Even though Cecile still works in French in various communities and places, her preference for her NVC journey was with the community here in New Zealand and Australia. She has been part of a pod of four candidates in New Zealand working together towards certification.

Also, I’ve huge gratitude to Anna Groves (AiT), who has been working alongside many candidates and potential candidates in Aotearoa (New Zealand) for at least 10 years. Anna helped in coordinating and organizing Cecile’s pre-assessment and final assessment in collaboration with Cecile and other people online as a team community process. Cecile really stepped up in taking care in communication to the team in organizing the two online events; this created ease for me in my role and remotely from my location in Australia.

##### From Cécile:

A life-changing journey on so many levels (self-understanding, grounding, inner peace, self-empowerment, trust in the dialogue and mediation processes to navigate differences and conflicts, etc... way more capacity and clarity about my capacity and my intentions!). It's a journey I would have continued without the certification process, because it makes so much sense to me. The Certification Process has brought me more clarity, direction, support from the community (including poddies and Assessor), and growth—maybe wider or more comprehensive...

##### FROM THE ASSESSOR, [Maria Hechenberger](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/maria-hechenberger)

**\[EN\]** When I met Lina during her registration, she had already completed 75% of the Certification Process. Over the following two years, I had the privilege of witnessing her in various roles: as a moderator at network meetings, an organizer, a participant in mentoring sessions and assessment days, and in workshops where she shared insights into her work with children.

I am delighted to observe how she ensures clear structures in seminars, how naturally she responds empathetically to objections and resistance, and how she simultaneously assumes leadership with confidence in her role as a trainer or facilitator. In collaborations, I experienced her as considerate, assertive, and creating space for partners with different leadership styles.

I particularly admire how Lina manages to meet people with diverse learning backgrounds exactly where they are, adapt structures flexibly, integrate them into the group, and create a safe environment for everyone. I am truly impressed by her work and am excited to welcome Lina to the community of Certified Trainers.

From Lina:

In 2017, I attended my first introductory seminar to begin the course “Nonviolent Communication with Children and Adolescents.” Initially, I believed this knowledge would be especially important for my schoolchildren. But soon, I realized that this process begins with myself. Learning Nonviolent Communication (NVC) has supported me in many ways: it has helped me shape my daily school life more consciously, cooperate and stay connected with the people in my school environment, and continuously work on myself. As part of this journey, I began to consciously question old patterns—especially those that did not fully meet my needs—and to seek paths that aligned better with my values.

In the following years, I attended numerous seminars, read extensively, and engaged in exchanges with others. In 2022, I began my Certification process. During this time, I deliberately explored dynamics of power: How does power feel to me? How might it feel to the people I work with as a trainer or teacher? And how can I remain on equal footing in a school setting, uphold my own boundaries, and still stay cooperative?

What was especially meaningful to me was the experience of being able to shape this learning process in a self-determined way. There were clear guidelines and diverse forms of support, yet I had the freedom to find my own rhythm and learn in the way that worked best for me. This experience deeply shaped me. As a teacher, trainer, and workshop leader, it has become my mission to ensure that every person has the opportunity to learn at their own pace and in a self-determined manner.

As I reach the end of my certification journey, I look back with gratitude. I chose this path for myself, and it has been incredibly enriching. Nonviolent Communication is now an integral part of my life. It provides me with stability and guidance, and supports me in living my life in alignment with my values. I am grateful that there are others walking this path as well. Together, we strive to do our best to live peacefully on this earth.

**\[EN\]** Throughout her journey, Lydia has fully invested herself with fervor and great commitment to integrating the process. She traveled thousands of kilometers between Quebec and British Columbia to be present and fully experience the learning of Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

I recognize in her great dynamism, inspiring leadership, and a remarkable ability to create and maintain relationships in professional and personal contexts. She is passionate about what she does! Throughout her journey, I was supported by my co-evaluator, [Valérie Lanctôt-Bédard](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/valerie-lanctot-bedard), who is also celebrating Lydia's certification.

##### From Lydia:

My journey with Nonviolent Communication began as both a personal and professional exploration. As a psychologist working closely with first responders and other high-stress populations, I was drawn to NVC because of its compassionate, clear, and empowering approach to communication. Over time, I began to notice how the principles of NVC—especially self-connection, empathy, and needs-based dialogue—were transforming the way I related not only to others, but also to myself.

As I deepened my understanding, I began applying NVC principles in my workshops and clinical practice. I witnessed firsthand how even small shifts—like making an observation without evaluation or tuning into the unmet needs behind someone’s words—could radically change the tone and outcome of difficult conversations. That’s what inspired me to pursue certification: I wanted to integrate this work more fully into my practice and be able to share it with more confidence, clarity, and integrity.

The Certification Process was incredibly meaningful. It gave me an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and really live the process—rather than just "use" it. The support of my Assessors and the NVC community helped me stretch into more vulnerability and authenticity, and the feedback I received along the way was both humbling and encouraging. One of the most impactful parts of the process was facilitating trainings for first responders, where I could tailor NVC to meet the specific needs of this audience and still remain grounded in the core principles. Overall, certification has been a rich, transformative experience that has not only deepened my capacity to live NVC, but also reconnected me with my values of compassion, collaboration, and lifelong learning.

##### FROM THE ASSESSOR, [Valerie Lanctôt-Bédard](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/valerie-lanctot-bedard)

**\[EN\]** Dominique is fully committed to her own development, both personally and professionally. Her curiosity and intensity in integrating all aspects of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) into her person and her life, as well as the means she has put in place over the years to support this integration, make her a model for this journey and a joy to accompany in her endeavours.

Dominique is very clear about her development and where she is at now. Through much celebration, she keeps a keen eye on her growing edges and looks forward to opportunities to continue integrating all aspects of NVC into more and more areas of her life. Her influence on those around her is palpable, and her close ones have also taken the NVC dive! I'm delighted to see all the other areas she'll be influencing. In appreciation of the complicity with my co-assessor, [Marcelle Bélanger](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/marcelle-belanger).

From Dominique:

**\[EN\]** My journey began in 2017, when I noticed the transformation of a friend, [Clotilde Paulin](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/clotilde-paulin). The further she advanced in her NVC journey, the more I enjoyed being in her company. I thought to myself, *I also want to develop that quality of listening and presence with myself.* So I dove into this journey of returning to myself, of vulnerability and authenticity.

I have immense gratitude for this art of living that is NVC. This empathic posture allowed me to support my daughter through her difficulties while remaining steady, grounded, and caring. It enabled me to stay connected with her no matter the storm we were going through. Today, I can celebrate the richness of the relationships I have with my loved ones thanks to NVC. I’ve also rediscovered meaning and joy in my work as a naturopath with my clients. I feel equipped to support them on their journey to holistic health.

I am deeply convinced that better connection with oneself and others in all areas of society is a step toward peace. Teaching with my heart and humility brings deep meaning to my life. I am passionate and love sharing the gift of Marshall Rosenberg. I am grateful to my community who supported me throughout this journey.

##### from the assessor, [Marcelle Belanger](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/marcelle-belanger)

**\[EN\]** I celebrate all the progress Anna has made over the past fourteen years! Anne is committed, determined, and dedicated in everything she undertakes. She created a game for experiencing Nonviolent Communication (NVC) that has a significant impact on integrating the process.

She lives what she teaches in all areas of her life and has a great capacity for resilience. She has great compassion for others and an ability to connect. She knows how to convey her enthusiasm. Throughout her journey, I was accompanied by my co-evaluator, [Valérie Lanctot-Bédard](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/valerie-lanctot-bedard), who is also celebrating Anne's certification.

from Anne:

**\[EN\]** I discovered Nonviolent NVC in 2011 during a 3-day introductory training led by [Marcelle Bélanger](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/marcelle-belanger), [Robert Bouchard](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/robert-bouchard), and [Gina Cenciose](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/gina-cenciose). That encounter marked a turning point in my life: since then, I have continually trained in this approach, which has profoundly transformed my relationship with myself and with others. Very quickly, I felt the urge to deepen this way of being in relationship and to share it with those around me. That’s how I began by offering a first training in my workplace, participated in and contributed to several family community camps focused on NVC, facilitated empathy circles, and offered individual empathy sessions.

In 2017, I created and published 250 copies of an initial set of learning games about compassionate communication titled **À L’ÉCOUTE** ("Listening In"). I received numerous testimonials about the impact of these tools in facilitating introspection and enabling authentic sharing among friends, families, couples, and coworkers. I use this material to lead NVC discovery and practice activities for various audiences, as well as trainings in non-profits. Since retiring in 2022, I have embarked on the certification path with the intention of democratizing empathy (through games accessible to all) and teaching NVC as an inner posture rooted in courageous compassion.

### [Fanny Raess (Belgium)](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/fanny-raess)

##### from the Assessors, [Laurence Bruschweiler](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/laurence-bruschweiler) & [Vinciane Marliere](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/vinciane-marliere)

Fanny has trained in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) for several years, following the A-Certif training path, regularly collaborating with peers, doing assistantships, and recently leading several training courses. She has also worked extensively in therapy, which now gives her a solid foundation of experience.

Fanny has immense confidence in the transformative power of NVC, even in the most difficult situations. Fanny has an open heart that she puts at the service of the people she meets. She would like to work in the fields of parenting, teaching and couple relationships. But also in the legal field, drawing on her training as a jurist. To this end, she would like to take further training in mediation.

from Fanny:

**\[EN\]** When my husband informed me that we were moving to Abu Dhabi, my first reaction was to frown. It was clearly not my dream to go live in a Gulf country. I had no idea that I was about to experience a turning point in my life. It just goes to show how beautiful it is to trust Life. In fact, I discovered NVC in 2017 in Abu Dhabi by participating in one of the modules led by [Karin Garaialde](https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/karin-garaialde). It was a true upheaval that triggered a deep transformation within me—one that has continued ever since. It became very clear that I could no longer live without NVC.

The shift was powerful enough to lead me into the certification path via A-Certif (2020–2025). Joining this path allowed me, among other things, to experience a sense of belonging by joining a learning community that aspires to the same values, and to begin a beautiful journey integrating NVC at my own pace. My family, and especially my relationship with my partner, became a true life laboratory for experimenting and progressing. My gratitude for this process is immense.
