Join Mika and Kristin online for 6 weeks (2/13-3/19 from 5-7pm pacific time) as we dive into the messy world of self-criticism and its impact on our personal and collective well-being.
What would your life and choices be like if you didn’t believe these critical messages about yourself and others in your group?
How would it feel if you could bring compassion to an internal dialogue with these messages of being “less than” or “not enough”?
How do you interrupt harmful behavior that can occur between individuals or groups who share a similar social or cultural background (lateral violence)?
We will offer frameworks to help us understand the origins of self-criticism: how we internalize value judgments about ourselves (and the groups we belong to) from systems of social hierarchy and violence. We will uncover how these harsh messages were forged in past generations.
We aim to create a safe and brave place to explore the cost to ourselves and our communities of these limiting self-beliefs. We will cultivate compassion for ourselves as we live with the legacy, the historical burden of carrying these messages.
