Talking with Another: Deepen Your Ability for Compassionate Connection and Action

OPTION to join online or in person in Toronto, Ontario
Get support, coaching and practice for deepening or repairing the relationships at home, work or community which matter to you. Registration limited to four people so there is individually focused coaching time for each participant’s interests. When you are not the focus, you’ll learn by supporting and/or observing. Join us to deepen your abilities and to cultivate connection with yourself and others. There will be an optional opportunity to meet with another participant after the workshop for more practice and integration.
Tuition: $95

Requested preparation
12 hours or equivalent of NVC training
an understanding of
– the intention of NVC
– the definition and purpose of observation, feeling, need and request
– communication which blocks compassion and its gift
some practice applying NVC in your life

Henry Wai has 28 years of experience leading trainings and delivering programs in Canada, England and the United States. Henry offers coaching and training for corporate, government, healthcare and community organization employees as well as public trainings.
Henry was introduced to Nonviolent Communication™ (NVC) www.cnvc.org by Marshall Rosenberg in 2000 and completed several trainings with Marshall. Henry’s early mentors were Gina Lawrie and Bridget Belgrave who developed the NVC Dance Floors
He has been a certified NVC trainer since 2004 and particularly delights in sharing NVC fundamentals with beginners.
Prior to NVC certification, Henry worked as a trainer and service provider in various sectors — housing, food co-ops, volunteer management, adult education, social enterprise and youth employment.
Henry’s capacity for presence has been supported through a variety of experiences:
- Zen Hospice Project volunteer,
- insight meditation practitioner,
- studying Psychology in university,
- growing up as a person of color in Canada, and
- contact improvisation dance.
Nonviolent Communication™ is a very powerful addition to his approach which emphasizes self-awareness, choice, relational skills and ways to build co-operation.
