How do you find space for yourself and your own processes in the fullness of life as a parent? Life as a parent requires improvisation, flexibility and acceptance. Your children change, the relationship with your partner, family and friends changes. And last but not least, your relationship with yourself changes. You may wonder when you will be heard again. In the dynamics of a family you discover things about yourself. Children are often a trigger for our own unfulfilled needs. It is the paradox of parenthood: our own pain and trauma can be touched, but due to the hustle and bustle of a family there seems to be almost no time to stand still and pay attention to it. There is always a lunch box that needs to be filled, someone who has to go to the sports club or a load of laundry that needs to be done. In this 2-day training we look at how we can deal with these challenges and we give substance to the concept of Connecting Parenting. This Advanced Training is accessible to anyone who has previously completed an Introductory Training in Connecting/Nonviolent Communication. The training is given by Mae Heffelaar and Boris Nauta. Both parents. Mae has worked as a pedagogue for the past 15 years and coaches parents individually and in groups with parenting issues. She also gives workshops and training in effective communication based on the philosophy of Nonviolent Communication. Boris is a Certified Trainer in Nonviolent Communication and founder of the training agency Equanimity.
