Family HEART Camp Ohioana (Ohio-Indiana)

Sun, 2017-08-06 - Sat, 2017-08-12

Registration for all Family HEART Camps Opens Mid-February 2017!

Family HEART Camp is a unique community experience for all people who long for more Harmony, Ease, Authenticity, Respect, and Trust in their families, in their communities, and in the world. Grounded in the principles of Nonviolent Communication, our camps offer an unforgettable lived experience of compassionate community, in places of natural beauty, for people of all ages.

All of our camps operate using Community Sourced Programming (CSP), an adaptation of Open Space Technology (OST), as the framework for program offerings. We also offer daily community gatherings and social events for fun, connection and learning.

FHC 2017 Summer Lineup Set!  We are excited to offer summer camps for 2017 in California, Colorado, New York, Ohio, West Virginia and Wisconsin. See all of our camps at

Why do we think Family HEART Camp is so special?  We have a dream...
... that all children everywhere are treated with unconditional love and respect.
... that all parents everywhere find relief from struggling with their children and have all the support they need to raise their children in accordance with their values.
... that Family HEART Camp will be a place where children learn to cherish, honor and respect their parents, and parents learn to cherish, honor and respect their children.
... that Family HEART Camp brings together families from different backgrounds and socioeconomic status to celebrate diversity in all forms.  We long for all families who are drawn to the camp to be able to attend, regardless of their financial means.

Does this dream speak to you?  If so, we hope that you will join us!

Lutheran Hills Camp and Conference Center

Entering their fourth year in 2017, FHC of Ohio is now called FHC Ohioana! Maybe it's a little confusing, but we think you will enjoy this venue  in southern Indiana with a variety of accommodations, miles of hiking trails, a swimming pool, boating on the lake, a Gaga Pit, lots of playing fields and organic food for every meal.

Venue: Lutheran Hills Camp and Conference Center

You're probably wondering why we are now calling this camp "FHC Ohioana," right? Well, when you can't find a venue in Ohio, you look in the next state over - Indiana! We are delighted to announce our new venue for 2017: Lutheran Hills Camp & Retreat Center near Morgantown, Indiana.

We think you will like this summer camp and retreat center located 15 miles northwest of Bloomington IN in Brown County. The 735-acre property has a summer camp area with a main lodge facility, 8 youth cabins, outdoor chapel, campfire circle, recreation stadium, swimming pool, 17-acre lake, and 7-miles of hiking trails.

Lutheran Hills offers three types of lodging for Family HEART Campers. Click on a link to see an image in a pop-up window. NOTE: You will need to bring at least some bedding for each lodging type.

Cottage / Lodge: Indoor accommodations featuring air conditioned private rooms; you bring your own pillows and linens. Update July 11, 2017: No more cottage/lodge rooms available.

Shared Cabin: Indoor accomodations featuring bunkbeds in a shared space; you bring all your own bedding (linens and blankets or sleeping bags, pillows). No air conditioning. Each cabin sleeps up to 13 people, so smaller families will likely be asked to share a room. Depending on size and availability, larger families may be able to have an entire cabin to themselves.

Tent Camping: Five electrical hook-ups are provided in the campground. There are ample primitive camping sites available around the lake and campers have access to a bathhouse with toilets and showers. All campers are responsible for providing all of their own equipment.

All meals are provided by the venue and feature organic ingredients and grass-fed meat offerings.
