General NVCIntroduction to Nonviolent Communication Part II (Macferran, Kathleen) (Seattle, WA, United States)

This workshop builds on the Introduction to Nonviolent Communication as a Spiritual Practice, Part I held at Chobo-Ji in October, 2018. In that training by Marcia Christen, we covered core aspects of NVC: empathy, feelings, needs, and self-awareness, all for the purpose of building compassionate connection with others. In January’s Part II, we’ll develop these understandings further and introduce more essential skills: deep listening and speaking authentically, as well
as making observations and requests. We’ll also explore ways to bring NVC as a spiritual practice into our sangha life as well as into our individual relationships. Finally, we’ll continue to deepen our understanding of interdependence, compassion, and shared power in order to foster a restorative community here at Chobo-Ji. There will be plenty of time for active role playing to build skill with what we’ve learned.

Sun, Jan 6, 2019 to Sat, Jan 12, 2019

General NVCNVC Training Programme, Level Two (Shantigarbha, .) ( Ahmedabad, GJ, India)

We get connected with each other in the space that opens up when we let go of our ideas of good and bad, right and wrong. When we feel safe and connected to ourselves, we don’t need to use these labels. When we are connected to ourselves, we are also connected to the people around us. It’s hard to find words to describe this field. In a sense it is beyond words.

Empathy leads us to Rumi’s field. It creates connection and strengthens existing relationships, in all areas of our lives. It can bridge temperamental, cultural and religious differences. Based on Shantigarbha’s new book I’ll Meet You There and many years of training in meditation, Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and mediation, Shantigarbha and Gesine will lead through guided reflections and practical exercises to help you develop your empathic listening skills.

This OWL2: Empathy is designed for practising skills learned in your OWL1, plus developing further understanding and skills in the area of empathy. It features the NVC Tree of Compassionate Connection, the Self-empathy Dance Floor, Empathy Archery, and the 13 Step Inner/Outer Dance Floor.

"Spiritual Sundays are a highlight of my month! Sylvia and Michael host these gatherings and share the topics with presence, clarity, warmth, and authenticity. I always learn something new, or am reminded of something important I've forgotten or am ignoring. I also very much enjoy this regular connection with a community of like-minded, like-hearted practitioners from all over the world. Highly recommended for any NVC student, new or experienced, who would enjoy a deeper, more insightful connection with this important, proven process of personal healing and social transformation."

General NVCEmbodying Nonviolent Communication Find your voice ~ Speak your truth ~ Walk your talk (Weinstock, David ) (Seattle,, , United States)

Starting in January, once a month we will meet to develop new habits and skills, that support us in becoming who we want to be and manifesting what we care about. Studies show that on average, it takes anywhere from two months to eight months to embody a new habit. This year-long series will organize around the valuing of the time and space needed to build trust, connection, and community. Somatic training develops the muscle sense of our collectiveness, quiets enemy images that we project and builds skills for living in the fullness of our collective needs.

Our monthly sessions attune to the cycles of the seasons to shed light on the transitions and rhythms of learning, life, and love.

Our body-wisdom holds keys to a treasure house of intuitive guidance and inspiring communication. Nonviolent Communication teaches us a brilliant language of the heart. Somatic Consensus integrates our words with the language of the body. Living life fully begins with knowing deeply what you care about. This is the organizing principle and inspiration for embodying new skills.

To move through lifetimes of embodied personal, familial and cultural patterned living, building new habits must capture your imagination. It must be fun. Each of our sessions engage physical, emotional, linguistic, intellectual and intuitive resources to build our capacity to manage mood and emotion, take skillful, decisive action and relate compassionately.

We wonder, “Will I be heard?” Or will the other person turn up with defensiveness, misunderstanding, and blame? And when misunderstanding does occur, how can we restore connection and trust?

General NVCIntention and Attention as Keys to NVC (Baanders, Ruud) (Rotterdam, , Netherlands)

Intention and attention are fundamental to your NVC practice and make a huge difference to connection and outcomes, yet they are harder to identify, develop and maintain than the skills of communicating about observations, feelings, needs and requests.

We became curious about this a couple of years ago, and dived deeply into it, reading, exploring and experimenting. We wanted to find a way to be more consciously aware of our attention and intentions that integrated with our NVC practice. We also wanted to develop an inclusive approach to this topic that spoke to others whatever their cosmology and spirituality.

Out of our experiences we created this innovative and exploratory workshop.

Sindsdien fascineren die conflicten me.

General NVCLeergang Verbindend Coachen (Giezeman, Jenny) (Rotterdam, , Netherlands)

Would you like more ease and connection with family members? Looking for inspired cooperation? Wishing you could reach family who speak in one word answers to your questions?
Come live NVC with or without your beloved family in this workshop where we play with real-life examples of situations we would like to illuminate and transform. In community with those in similar situations, we invite you to learn and practice tools for more connected communication and life experiences in this rich field of interpersonal play.

Come learn and practice the skills, consciousness and language of NVC with those who matter most. Often we are scared to speak up when we are less confident in our skills and tools to express ourselves vulnerably and to hear the reaction of family members who are most likely to trigger our pain.
