#  Governance

The Center for Nonviolent Communication is overseen by the [Board of Directors](https://www.cnvc.org/about/board), consisting of seven people elected by our organization's Members who serve 3-year terms. The Board governs the organization by articulating the purposes, vision, and mission of CNVC.

Board members ensure the financial and legal integrity of CNVC and establish board policies, strategies, and objectives. The Executive Director works in partnership with the Board and runs the operations along with [staff members](https://www.cnvc.org/about/staff) from around the world.
