NYCNVC Practice Groups are weekly gatherings (usually 5 to 15 people) where you can develop your skills through the use of practice exercises, role-plays and the sharing of your struggles and successes with others.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is often readily understood, yet can be challenging to put into practice. To help you bring NVC into your daily life The New York Center for Nonviolent Communication (NYCNVC) offers NVC Practice Groups in North America and Europe.

PLEASE NOTE: We ask that all registrants participate in at least 80% of the sessions (i.e. 8 out of 10) to support continuity, learning, participation and progress of the whole group.

David Paris
Dave has studied Nonviolent Communication for three years and is a graduate of the NYCNVC Integration Program. He currently practices NVC personally and professionally, sharing it with children and teachers at his middle school in Brooklyn, NY, where he has been a teacher for over 20 years.

Dave also incorporates NVC into the coaching he provides to dance students in an effort to achieve better communication and efficiency in achieving mutual goals.

Jimbala Soviero
Jim Soviero (Jimbala) has worked for the federal government as a computer network specialist, videographer, and conflict resolution mediator and for himself as a psychotherapist and life coach.

His personal development includes co-facilitating weekends and practice groups for the Mankind Project (aka “New Warriors”), assisting with community-based trainings in Zegg-style Forum, Naka Ima, and Ipsalu Tantra and OneTaste intros.

Immersed in the NYCNVC Integration Program since early 2013, he has facilitated practice groups, Discovery and Intensive weekends, and tele workshops.

Jim passionately explores self-connection and its guidance toward living a more fulfilling life.
