The Organizer of an IIT is a crucial role, and goes a long way toward determining the success of an IIT. Would you be willing to self-evaluate yourself on the following criteria please?

On a scale from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest), where would you place yourself on the following:

1. Sees the big picture including the vision and purpose of the IIT, and can communicate this vision to inspire and orient people. *

2. Tracks all actions that need to be taken by everyone involved, and ensures that they happen. Delegation is helpful -- the Organizer does not do everything, which would be too much for any one person… but they make sure that everything that needs to be done is attended to. *

3. Takes initiative; provides leadership and is proactive. While CNVC provides many resources and is responsive, the organizer needs to identify all that needs to be done and take the initiative for moving it forward *

4. Has technology skills including ease and facility with spreadsheets, online documents, email communication, and phone and video communications. *

5. Enjoys and is energized by marketing and outreach as a way to generate energy for the event. Also, collaborates with trainers and other partners and serves as a catalyst for engaging them in marketing. *

6. Strongly values reliability, dependability and trust. Has ability to track communications from CNVC, participants and trainers and responds in a timely manner. *

7. Keeps careful track of money, reimbursements, and other resources. Is completely transparent about accounting and finances. *

8. Has skills of empathic listening and honest expression, and the ability to interact in a connecting and positive way with others. *

9. Is comfortable operating in a multicultural environment with people from various ethnic and cultural groups and languages. *

10. Has the capacity to ask for support and create a support system for areas where the Organizer does not have the skills or experience needed to fulfill their responsibilities. *

Willingness

Taking on the coordination of an IIT is a big commitment. We estimate that you'll spend an average of 10-15 hours per week for a year. It varies over time. At the beginning it may be less, but the weeks before it can be 40 hours. Also plan a few days after the IIT. We ask that all organizers ensure that they are committed to a year-long project with considerable responsibility. Also that they are willing to step into the responsibility as the primary “holder” of this event from start to finish.
