Thursday CALLS - Communing in Community Circles - "Being NVC"

These calls are facilitated by Mair Alight, Certified Trainer/Mediator/Consultant with CNVC. The intention for this call is to practice the three modes of communication: Self Connection, Self Expression and Presence with Others. We do this with rounds of silence (usually 4-8 minutes) followed by each person sharing the exsperience they had in the silence as the others listen. Pass is always an option! Once we have listened around the circle, we go again into the silence, repeating this until the hour is complete. Register for this call with your name and email address at the url below and you will receive a confirmation email with call in number and your PIN. The Thursday call series is set up with a sliding scale of $10 to $50 monthly total (not each call). If cost is a block to your participation, email me and I will register you myself. Go to and click on calendar to register for the month you want to participate. I will add months as they approach. for May: for June: for July: for August: Cost: Sliding Scale $10-$50. There may be phone charges from your service provider. You can call in with your computer, using skype-to-skype. If the cost prevents your participation email me and I will register you myself. Note: There are other calls on Wednesdays that I offer on same sliding scale $10-$50 for the month (not for each call). If the cost prevents you from attending, email me and I will register you myself. The Wednesday and the Thursday calls begin anew each month and are closed each month, during the month, so there are no drop-ins on Wed or Thurs, so more predictability with generally less people on the calls (3-9)than the Tuesday Open Drop-In Calls. Tuesday calls are open and drop-in, sliding scale $0-$50 on Tuesdays. Rich, deep , simple and … inspiring. I love the way you heard the question to talk "about " what we were doing as a "request". LOVED it - have been caught in my mind and heart since Wednesday eve's practice group that I led about what happens in the room and the servant I become to all OTHER needs and YOUR example was pure "hearin' it " - the request !!!! As …. A request !! - Kate Raffin What I love about this format is that I can practice what I most need: self empathy and expression. The presence of others who are self connecting creates a safe, sacred, container that is palpable. This container allows me to settle into my body, feelings, and thoughts so I contact the wisdom within that knows what I need. This process is EMPOWERING. - Luccia Brillare di Amore Rainbow Priestess "Communicating from the silence and expressing our truth has been supportive environment for my continued growth in NVC. The format provides a clear delineation for self-empathy, expression, and empathic presence to focus my monkey mind (term borrowed from Zen circles). I've enjoyed my level of self-connection on the calls accelerating the integration of myself in my NVC practice." - Todd H. Words of Support from Marshall Rosenberg, Miki Kashtan, and Ike Lasater: " I have known Mair since 2002, when she attended the BayNVC Leadership Program. I appreciate, in particular, her deep passion for meaning, her dedication to authenticity and full human connection, and her humor and courage in responding to challenges. I trust her understanding of NVC and her continued immersion in learning and clarifying concepts and processes. I am impressed by what I see as her ability to see and reach human beings across a wide range of demographics and experiences and offer meaningful healing and learning to others." - Miki Kashtan, Lead Trainer, Strategic Vision, Bay Area Nonviolent Communication (PayNVC) "I’ve known Mair for a decade as a friend, colleague and as a participant in some of my NVC Mediation workshops. I very much enjoy how she shows up in the world with humor, care and clarity. I like the way Mair relates to herself, and to me and others. I without reservation recommend that you work with her at every opportunity." – Ike Lasater, "Mair Alight is one of sixty individuals from twenty-five countries selected by the Center for Nonviolent Communication to attend a Special Session on Social Change in July 2005 in Switzerland.
