Request Fest!

It's request time! Do you find yourself "getting stuck" at the moment
of making a request? Does your heart want to make requests, but your
words come out sounding like demands? Spend a day at Request Fest! and
let your imagination help you create strategies to meet needs while
maintaining a focus on connection. We will review the different kinds
of requests, practice making- and responding to- requests, and
experiment with how much joy we can possibly take in when our requests
focus on connection and making life more wonderful. Karen Murphy has nearly 600 hours of NVC
training. She has completed levels I-IV of Brooklyn NVC's Foundations
Program, the 2008 New York Intensive and Diversity Intensive, and
BayNVC's east coast Living Peace Intensive. Karen is also a graduate of
the 2008 Bay NVC North America Leadership Program, and is an assistant
for the 2009 Leadership Program.

Karen is a participant in Facilitate Change, the nine-month social
change program geared toward bringing NVC to organizations. She is a
volunteer with New Yorkers for a Department of Peace, the local chapter
of a national grassroots effort working to pass legislation that will
establish a cabinet level United States Department of Peace. Karen is
an avid baseball fan (Go Yankees!) and piano player.
