Mobbing

Looking for experiences, advice and wisdom in regards to this inappropriate behavior in the work place. After a long and interesting work experience, it has come to my attention that I have witnessed, been subjected to and involved in mature bullying. Mobbing is a nice way of dressing up the term but it is just bullying removed from the playground and relocated. Using the term "mature bullying" is a contradiction and that I realize; however, how else does one describe this immature behavior -- mobbing?

Mobbing

Have been advised that mobbing is not on the decline but due to the economic climate, it is on the increase. As productive employees continue to work harder because of the economical situation those less inclined to work but to bully have increased there activity instead of (pardon the expression) putting their nose to the grindstone. As I look or re-look at the tools of non-violent communication, I am trying to visualize a response which is more productive -- a snappy comeback or thinking quick on ones feet is not really the answer; nevertheless, a compassionate response, that takes into consideration the feelings of the bully/mob participant, is required. However, I am beginning to realize that trying to look at this work place communication tool, while trying to implement the tools of non-violence communications, is rather difficult. How does approach such behavior and not label the behavior and or participants? I realize that more study and practice is required. Any insight would be appreciated.
