Center for Nonviolent Communicationsm
INTERNATIONAL INTENSIVE TRAINING
USA - Los Angeles CA, February 8-17, 2019

Discover skills that will help you improve the quality of your relationships, deepen your inner peace, and increase your contribution in the world.

Join us to be part of a compassionate community learning together how to speak from the heart;

practice deep, nonjudgmental listening; and build self empowerment from the inside out.

This event is a 9-day residential training designed as an "immersion experience" in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) led by a team of experienced CNVC certified trainers.

The purpose is to offer you the opportunity to live the process of NVC in community over an extended period of time, in order to develop the mindsets and practical tools to help you in three areas:

venue St Joseph labrint

1. Personal and Professional Relationships

  • Increase connection and closeness with the people you love.
  • Speak in a way that inspires compassion and understanding.
  • Initiate difficult conversations with more ease and confidence.
  • Remain centered and peaceful when receiving difficult messages.
  • Express and receive anger fully, safely and respectfully... yet powerfully.
  • Resolve long-standing conflicts and heal painful relationships.
  • Parent children from the heart and move beyond power struggles into cooperation.
  • Translate criticism, judgments and blame into life-serving messages.

2.  Inner Transformation

  • Shift patterns of thinking that lead to depression, guilt and shame and perpetuate pain.
  • Transform anger into self-understanding, thereby increasing inner peace.
  • Enliven yourself by expressing and receiving gratitude.
  • Learn to embody unconditional love.

3.  Contribution and Social Change

  • Teach others a way to increase inner peace, liberate themselves and strengthen relationships.
  • Share NVC in a ways that contains/transmits it’s power to transform and that inspires others.
  • Create educational systems where students love learning and teachers love teaching.
  • Learn to engage in effective, lasting nonviolent social change in the tradition of Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

We intend to prioritize these three areas within the IIT curriculum and there is also room for co-creation. There will be opportunities for you to make requests for specific topics that you imagine will support you in applying NVC in these areas of your life.

sabine geigerTrainer: Sabine Geiger (Germany)

Sabine Geiger has been leading workshops all over the world for 30 years, to support people on their path to freedom and choice. She came in contact with NVC in 1998 and started teaching soon after that. As a certified trainer and assessor for CNVC, she promotes a community-based certification approach.
To Sabine, NVC is a journey of the heart: ”When I crossed paths with Marshall Rosenberg in 1998, I was amazed. How could anyone describe my inner processes so accurately, without ever meeting me?! The empathic, curious and open heart has always seemed natural to me. Discovering NVC and passing it on to others has immensely enriched my life.”
Since Sabine recognizes conflict as an invitation to learn more about others, exploring and sharing restorative approaches has become an important part of her teaching.
Her passion? Tapping into the wisdom of the body while using the framework of the NVC process. How can we explore body sensations and link them to our feelings and needs? To Sabine, this is an ongoing exploration, which you are kindly invited to join.

Agnieszka Rzewuska-PacaTrainer: Agnieszka Rzewuska-Paca (Poland)
I'm a free spirit with a great appetite for life. Seeker of meaning and life fulfillment, stemming from a deep connection to my own power. I am convinced that every person has a sage inside, who knows what is best for them. My passion is to support people in connecting to their inner sages and wisdom. Working with me is a journey, an exploration, in a safe space of acceptance, which I create.
My primary point of reference is Nonviolent Communication - “What I want in my life is compassion, a flow between myself and others based on a mutual giving from the heart.” - this quote of Marshall Rosenberg went straight into my heart and initiated my journey of heartful living. Several years and several hundred workshop-days later, the NVC community has become my tribe, and the approach itself a way of living and the essence of what I share now in my professional life as a certified trainer. In my work I am particularly fascinated by the interplay of the intrapersonal, the interpersonal and the systemic. I balance great intellectual clarity and insightfulness, with the transformative potential of body-based practices – together with a collegue we set up an “NVC in Motion” in Poland, offering and organizing workshops that combine body-awareness and NVC.
My other passion is bringing NVC into education – for the past 4 years I’ve been working with an NVC kindergarten and nursery in Warsaw, as well as offering workshops for teachers. I have also co-created and run a first gap-year program for youth 18-25 in Poland, aiming at supporting young people in re-discovering their gifts and crafting a life journey, which is a manifestation of who they really are.

rodger SorrowOrganizer: Rodger Sorrow
I'm an organizer, certified trainer since 2001 and assessor in training for The Center for Nonviolent Communication. Nonviolent Communication (NVC) has changed my life as it gave me a process to understand what was going on inside me and express it without criticizing, blaming or making others wrong. NVC has also given me tools to differentiate between what was happening and the story I was making up about it. This opened the door to authenticity and accountability as I connected to my feelings and values and became empowered to express my truth openly and vulnerably. At the same time there was now space inside me so I can hear others and what’s alive in their hearts. This process is powerful and can support individuals, couples, groups and organizations find more connection, collaboration and the win-win in any situation.
