Announcement of Open IT Position
Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC) has an opening for Information Technology Coordinator/Web Master.

The IT Coordinator is responsible for developing CNVC’s IT infrastructure.
- Provides and/or arranges for system administration services for CNVC’s internal automation system. Anticipates needed hardware and software replacement and upgrades. Ensures that reliable system backup procedures are in place, including offsite storage of key data files.
- Develops and maintains an internal database system that supports CNVC’s operations.
- Maintains the CNVC web site. Works with CNVC administration to develop the web site in ways that market NVC and promote communication and cooperative action among NVC participants.
- Responsible for all technical decisions regarding IT operations. Recommends IT policy to the Admin Team for approval.
- Management and maintenance of the Drupal 6 web site.
- Ability to provide services in a timely, effective manner. (We currently see this as a full time position.)

Program Design
Required
- Ability to analyze workflow
- Ability to identify all fields and functions required to create workflow online
- Ability to design user interface and help system
- Ability to interview for report criteria
Desirable
- Ability to assist in the definition of undefined workflow
- Ability to guide redesign of workflow traditions to increase workflow efficiency and improve knowledge gathering
- Ability to migrate data from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7
Data Migration
Required
- Ability to guide upgrade from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7
Desirable
- Experience at transitioning platforms. (i.e. Drupal to Blackbaud)
IT Management

- Awareness of IT trends and development to identify technologies that will be of benefit to CNVC in areas of Software, Hardware, Communication technology, Office Productivity and Social Media.

PHP
Required
- Rudimentary understanding of PHP coding to include know how to edit user interface text without disturbing the function of the code
- Ability to provide access to an outside programmer to files on the server

- Ability to read and write PHP allows extreme extensibility to a Drupal Site
- Ability to work with IT consultants identifying code needing attention
- Ability to make patches to updated modules
FTP
Required:
- Ability to move files between a personal computer and a server

- Ability to use wget and wput on the server for server to server file movement when updating modules
