This Practice Group begins with a "remembering" for inspiration, centering and connecting with ourselves. This is followed by a "check-in" when we share how we are, what we bring with us or what we hope to receive during the session. Activities include: short education exercises, empathy, role-plays, games and discussions. Participants can facilitate the group with prior arrangement with Rodger Sorrow

Come and explore ways to support yourself staying connected with another. Our learning focus will be compassionate listening (empathy to another). We will offer exercises to support a deep level of presence to another. With these skills we will then practice with participants live examples. Marshall suggests our greatest gift we can give another is empathy. Join us as we practice the giving of this gift.

In deze Introductietraining van 5 avonden leer je onder meer zien wat maakt dat jouw communicatie-strategieën soms niet werken. Ook ontdek je hoe je kunt achterhalen wat er in jezelf en in de ander leeft. En hoe je daar uitdrukking aan kunt geven op zo'n manier dat de ander naar je luistert. En 'last but not least' je leert in verbinding te blijven met de ander, ook als het lastig wordt.

Deepening workshops of Nonviolent Communication (5x2 days, dates: May 12th/13th, June 9th/10th, August 16th/17th, September 16th/17th, Ocotber 14th/15th)
These 10 days will focus on “inner work” and exploring our relationships and dialogues with ourselves and situations that trigger us. The workshops will help you to discover choices we didn’t know we had and the tools to relate to yourself with a greater sense of compassion.
We offer the opportunity to come for the first workshop to get to know me and then sign up for the rest.
In my experience before we can connect compassionately with others we first need to learn to connect compassionately with ourselves.
The workshop is also an opportunity to become part of a group that continues developing NVC skills and consciousness over the time.

FEE REQUEST: $20/session or $60/4 sessions prepaid. No one turned away due to lack of funds -- work exchange and barter welcome.  | TIME: 7:15 pm - 9:30 pm one Friday each month, including April 11, May 16, and June 27, 2008 (contact Jeff for future dates) | DESCRIPTION: Most sessions will use the following format: a brief presentation of a particular NVC skill, followed by practice exercises and role playing real situations. Empathy and self-empathy are common themes, as well as compassionate honesty, gratitude, celebrating and mourning. The 2 and a half day training is offered to people who have a basic knowledge of nvc.
