Center For Nonviolent Communicationsm |
Program: This International Intensive Training (IIT) is a 9-day, Nonviolent Communication “immersion experience.” It is a residential workshop led by a team of experienced CNVC certified trainers. The purpose of this IIT training is to offer people the opportunity to live the process of Nonviolent Communication in community over an extended period of time, in order to develop Nonviolent Communication knowledge, skills and consciousness.
LEAD TRAINER - JOHN KINYON John Kinyon has been a CNVC certified trainer since 2000 and has studied and worked closely with NVC founder Marshall Rosenberg since 1998, including being a staff trainer with Marshall in over 20 International Intensive Trainings (IITs). John specializes in NVC mediation -- applying the language, skills and principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) to mediating conflict within oneself, with others, and helping others who are in conflict. He mediates and offers international trainings and year immersion programs in the U.S., Europe, Australia, and South Korea, including work with Afghan tribal elders along the Pakistani border in early 2002. John is a co-founder of the Bay Area NVC organization (BayNVC). For more information about John see www.johnkinyon.com.

SUPPORT TRAINER - KIRSTEN KRISTENSEN
Kirsten Kristensen lives in Odense, Denmark. She is a family therapist, supervisor, mediator and CNVC certified trainer. She has worked for 20 years with economics and production planning, along with taking trainings in self-development and meditation, and since 1994 she has devoted her working life to support others in personal development. In 1998 she met Marshall and Nonviolent Communication and found that NVC was adding a very deep and life changing dimension to her work as a therapist. In 2004 she served as a trainer in IIT and since then she has shared NVC internationally and leads year-long NVC trainings in three countries as well as serves as a consultant and supervisor for institutions and organizations. She also publishes NVC books in Danish. Her passion is supporting the healing in each of us that will allow NVC communities to thrive, and contributing to us having the skills to go closer to conflicts and serve as a third side.
SUPPORT TRAINER: BOB WENTWORTH
Bob Wentworth once asked himself the question, "Is there a single key that could make a difference in addressing all the world's problems?" and the answer that came to him was, "If only we could transform the human tendency to divide the world into Us and Them, where They are less than human, and not even worth listening to, so that we shut out the information we would need to really resolve our issues---if we could shift that, it would make all the difference, and be worth dedicating one's life to." NVC is the most elegant approach Bob has found to addressing this core dilemma. Better still, NVC also addresses the dilemma of our tendency to fragment our psyches, to label parts of ourselves as being unworthy and pushing them away. It offers a path to wholeness, as individuals, as communities, as a world. Bob has learned from Robert Gonzales, various Bay NVC trainers, and other gifted sources of insight about how to powerfully live the values of NVC. Bob is on the Board of Directors of CNVC, and co-founded Family HEART Camp, an NVC camp for parents and children, now held in three states across the US. He lives near Washington, DC, and has a Ph.D. in Applied Physics. Bob looks forward to engaging in mutual learning and sharing of aliveness at this IIT.

SUPPORT TRAINER: KARSTEN SCHACHT-PETERSEN
Karsten was certified in 1999 as a CNVC-trainer. Before that he had been working as a psychotherapist for 20 years. Karsten has integrated his experiences from a long adult life, starting with being married first time at age 21, soon having 3 children, and later 6 grandchildren and a second wife! During the years he attended many different workshops to heal pain from the past, and to search for new understanding of life! Meeting Marshall Rosenberg and NVC integrated a lot of experiences into one formula, and that made a profound change in his life! Thanks to NVC he has managed to create relationships with x-wife, xx-wife and new partner, so that all have been spending fx- Christmas time together several times.
Another life changing achievement Karsten has got from NVC is anger management. He changes his lifelong favorite feeling "anger" into compassion and sadness. Karsten has been working closely with Marshall Rosenberg for some years, being organizing workshops with Marshall in Denmark, and being a co-trainer on 3 IIT's lead by Marshall Rosenberg. Karsten is born in 1942, and is now enjoying sharing NVC where requested. Karsten has experiences from many workshops and yearlong trainings. Also he has been an active person in arranging summer camps for families in Denmark (every year since 2004) and in Poland 5 times during the last 7 years.
