Course Description:

Walking from the heart

Did you know we have a second heart in our calf muscle?
So… on this workshop we can exercise both hearts and feel double the benefit.

15 – 20 May 2009

Led by Gina Lawrie (Certified trainer in Nonviolent Communication)
and Sue Beardon (leader for Walking Women holidays)

Would you like a holiday where you will be moved not just by the beauty of the scenery but also by the intimacy of relationship with yourself and others? Do you want to return from a trip away feeling deeply satisfied with new ways of approaching life?

Combine walking in the beautiful Lake District with learning the simple yet profound process of Nonviolent Communication (NVC). As we apply the beauty of Nonviolent Communication to our relationship with nature, you will find judgement and blame transformed. You will become aware of your surroundings and the group you are walking with in a new and more satisfying way. You don't have to be superfit.  Some of the walking may be challenging for those who have not walked in mountains before. You will have the support you need and part of the learning will come from dealing with the challenge and the feelings evoked using NVC.
Days will be divided between time in the workshop learning new skills, walking together and space for yourself.

We will be based in a converted cottage with a history dating back to 1556 and linked with several British poets. It is set in idyllic surroundings beside Rydal Water in the centre of the Lake District. Log fires, organic food, massage, reiki and shiatsu on request, WiFi access and a friendly spirit seem like great strategies for meeting our needs. See www.rydalwater.com <http://www.rydalwater.com>  for more details.

Cost: £425 covers food, accommodation and workshop. £100 deposit requested.
Food is vegetarian, mostly organic. Supplement £6 per day for special diets.
