This Practice Group begins with a "remembering" for inspiration, centering and connecting with ourselves. This is followed by a "check-in" when we share how we are, what we bring with us or what we hope to receive during the session. Activities include: short education exercises, empathy, role-plays, games and discussions. Participants can facilitate the group with prior arrangement with Rodger Sorrow

This course is designed for those who want to make a fundamental transformation in the way they relate with their inner and outer worlds. You can expect to emerge from the 30 days with increased clarity, efficiency, connection, tenderness and strength as well as a new depth of confidence and peace.
The course is based in the practical and practicable, so you’ll find countless opportunities in daily life to apply your growing skills.

This complete course consists of:
• Five weekly classes of three hours each
• Daily homework of 30-60 minutes
• In-depth weekend assignments
• An online forum for homework processing and support
• One private session with Holly

No one turned away due to lack of funds -- work exchange and barter welcome.  | TIME: 7:15 pm - 9:30 pm one Friday each month, including April 11, May 16, and June 27, 2008 (contact Jeff for future dates) | DESCRIPTION: Most sessions will use the following format: a brief presentation of a particular NVC skill, followed by practice exercises and role playing real situations. Empathy and self-empathy are common themes, as well as compassionate honesty, gratitude, celebrating and mourning. The 5 day 'Living NVC' experience allows the integration of NVC to happen in a natural way. With a maximum of 10 participants, we learn, teach, weep, laugh, cook, walk and dance together, using the skills and consciousness of NVC. Each day we decide together what we will do, in an atmosphere where everyone's needs are valued. All this takes place in the 'Come to Life' Barn, with accommodation in my home, in a village on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds in Gloucestershire. All levels of experience are welcome.

NVC enables us to connect empathically with other people, and helps us
to help them to connect empathically with us. But what do you do when
you are feeling angry or upset to the extent that you don't want to
empathise with them? And they feel the same about you?! We call this
empathy collision, and on this day we will explore what is happening in
these situations and how we can get around this impasse. This day will
be practice oriented, to help you develop and rejuvenate your skill
with NVC.

Experiential class meets weekly to learn and practice skills and consciousness that transform conflict into understanding.

Kursinnehåll: Varje vecka behandlar vi ett kapitel i boken Nonviolent Communication, ett språk för livet. Du gör övningar för att tillämpa det du lär.
Kursmoment och arbetssätt: Kursen är helt på distans, utan fasta träffar och vi möts via Internet. Du kan alltså befinna dig vart du vill så länge du har tillgång till Internet vilket innebär ett flexibelt lärande där du själv kan välja när du gör de uppgifter som följer med utbildningen.

The Parenting Basics covers the same materials as the Basics course but with a focus on parenting.

In each 3-hour session, Holly teaches the concepts and demonstrates the skills within the context of the large group. She also convenes the large group at the end of each session for debriefing, homework assignments, and closing.

Holly is joined by Erika Jennings to coach participants in the break-out portion of each session. This one-on-one coaching leads to rapid integration of the skills introduced in the large group.

Nonviolent (Compassionate) Communication by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg offers a clear, practical process for communicating without judging ourselves or others and to hear others' feelings and wants even though they might be hidden behind judgments and critici sm.

You will be learning the basic NVC steps as well as practice with your own examples.
