Why Intention is the Fundamental Principle of NVC, and How to Cultivate its Power
The Other NVC: Non-Verbal Communication
How to End the Illusion of ‘My Needs’ and ‘Your Needs’
How to Walk in the Dark, when NVC forms aren’t Creating Connection

Utilizing art, movement, discussion, meditation, and games, we will explore together this rich texture of what it is to be human.

Dialogue with Thom Bond. 646 201 9226

Course Description:

"I have two questions for you.  What would you like Others to do? And why would you want them to be doing it?"

New York, 2002, Marshall Rosenberg, Originator of Nonviolent Communication

From Thom
If your answer to the second question is "Because they want to," you're in "NVC Consciousness."  By using NVC Requests, we can interact with Others while staying connected to our Values.

When we have learned to hear others empathically and express ourselves honestly, requests are how we connect to the life in others and help others understand the aliveness in us.  They are the practical tools we can use to deepen understanding and heart connection, transcend conflict and exercise the power of the Human Imagination.

Requests are where we can use all of our skills and awareness and in many ways represents the most spiritually challenging part of NVC practice.  With practice, NVC Requests help us discover our own attachments and suffering and give us the opportunity to transform how we function in the world and in our relationships.  The workshop is designed to help us move from habitual ways of interacting (demand, should/shouldn't thinking) to a potentially enriching and empowering perspective and experience that acknowledges and connects us to our Needs and those of Others.  Please feel free to contact me if you would like to know more or have other questions or things to say.

With Love, Thom

Topics will include:

- NVC Requests versus Demands
- Connection Requests
- Hearing "No" -  Saying "No"
- Boundaries, Demands and Requests
- Understanding and Contributing to "Quality of Connection"
- Seeing and Understanding Our Own Judgments
- Requests and Dialogue
- Self Empathy and Requests
- Requests and Mediation

This is an Intermediate/Advanced training. Beginner track option is not available for this intensive.

NVC Training Institute's Seven Day Training or equivalent

Course Description:

Over the years we've had a lot of people in our trainings express
interest & excitement about bringing NVC into businesses &
organizations, and now we have developed a training to support those
who are venturing into this territory.

With his background in owning & managing small businesses, Gregg has focused
the last seven years on facilitating NVC consciousness in
organizations—first in his own 19-year-old business, and then as a
consultant to a variety of businesses & nonprofits including a
3-1/2 year engagement at a company that does pharmaceutical studies.
Susan brings her 15+ years of experience of NVC, along with specific
engagements of bringing NVC into the British Columbia provincial
government and General Motors.

The intention within our work is to foster the fullness of NVC consciousness—the living energy
of needs—such that we not only impact the human relationships within
the organization but we systemically transform the organizational
processes, strategies and structures to be in harmony with this
consciousness.

Our intention within this workshop is to:

  • Share our experience of NVC as a process for organizational development
  • Develop
    NVC skills & consciousness, beyond the intrapersonal &
    interpersonal, to encompass groups of people with a common mission
    & aim
  • Learn to introduce NVC to people within businesses & organizations through inspiring rather than selling
  • Expand the mission of any organization so that it becomes a "living organization"
  • Introduce Dynamic Self-Governance (Sociocracy) as a framework to hold NVC consciousness
  • Experience
    circles as the core organizational unit and explore the dynamics within
    those circles that fulfill the needs of the participants and the needs
    of the whole
  • Invite hands-on practice of essential
    NVC organizational skills in facilitation of meetings, expressing &
    hearing disagreement without blame, mediation and coaching
  • Explore
    how common processes—e.g. meetings, employee reviews, hiring,
    terminations of employment, email communications—are transformed to
    create an environment of authenticity, connection & mutual
    interdependence within the organization
  • Witness—and learn the skills of—a new leadership that emerges in living organizations
  • Learn the crucial role of systemic feedback for a living organization to thrive

Intended Participants

  • People who want to integrate NVC into their organizations (businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, community groups, etc.)
  • Consultants who want to facilitate the integration of NVC into client organizations
  • Certified & non-certified NVC trainers who want to facilitate the integration of NVC into client organizations

Course Description:

Pendant cette session, nos objectifs sont de… :

• …nous familiariser avec la pratique spécifique des jeux de rôle en CNV et d’en mesurer toute la puissance de transformation et de guérison ;

• …apprendre à créer l’espace intérieur pour accueillir ce qui est, se faire le canal de la ‘force qui transforme’ et être présent/e en toute confiance ;

• …goûter à l’art du « rester avec » (c’est-à-dire l’art d’accueillir vraiment et entièrement ce qui est partagé, de se réjouir de la souffrance exprimée par l’autre qui lui permet de se libérer) ;

• …apprendre à retourner en soi après avoir été totalement présent/e à l’autre ;

• …repérer nos réactions corporelles, qui sont les indicateurs les plus sûrs pour savoir à quoi il sera essentiel de répondre après avoir écouté notre interlocuteur ; acquérir la capacité à les traduire en sentiments et besoins ;

• …faire la différence entre les jeux de rôle à vocation didactique et les jeux de rôle dits de guérison ou de transformation.
