Proposal Template
Your proposals
You are invited to make proposals to the GCC. For us to understand and get clarity easily, we ask you to use the template below which was consented on 27 June 2007. The template is available in Word at the bottom.
1. Proposal title:
(Short title for the proposal which will appear on meeting agendas. Revision number – current date.)
2. Who is the proposer:
(Your name and group you are representing.)
3. Ultimate intention of the proposal:
(Brief summary of the strategy & the needs you hope it will meet.)
4. What's alive in me - my observations, feelings, and needs:
(Why is this proposal important to me now?)
5. Actual detail of the proposal:
(This can be longer - but still try to be brief. If you find yourself writing something long here, consider splitting this section into several small sub-proposals that can each be consented-to individually.)
6. Term:
(Include review date. When will we check this?)
7. Measurement:
(When we review, wat will demonstrate that the proposal has fulfilled its ultimate intention?)
This section is optional, but recommended for major proposals.
Some other issues to consider as you prepare the proposal include:
8. Urgency:
(How quickly do we need to consider this proposal? Is the proposal time-sensitive? Why? Can you relate it to upcoming deadlines?)
This section may have an impact on how soon the proposal will be discussed.
9. Impacts of the proposal:
(The proposal impacts what people/roles? How? Impacts what policies/processes? How? Impacts what budgets? How?)
This section is optional, but recommended for major proposals.
