NVC enables us to connect empathically with other people, and helps us
to help them to connect empathically with us. But what do you do when
you are feeling angry or upset to the extent that you don't want to
empathise with them? And they feel the same about you?! We call this
empathy collision, and on this day we will explore what is happening in
these situations and how we can get around this impasse. This day will
be practice oriented, to help you develop and rejuvenate your skill
with NVC.

Course Description: 

These two days will apply NVC practice to coping more compassionately with depression, whether in ourselves, or in support for another.

Like all Deepening weekends it will offer an opportunity to consolidate and practice the skills learnt on the Foundation training, building fluency and sharing practical experiences of working with nvc.

Participants will also have opportunity to work further with some of the relevant NVC Dancefloors - spatial maps which allow a gradually integration of the process through experiential learning.

Due to venue size and subject matter we have chosen to offer places for just 8 participants on this Deepening.

In this workshop the behaviors, concepts, and mindset of NVC will be presented and demonstrated, and opportunities provided for each individual to practice these behaviors on their own real life situations through role plays.  Initially the model is presented through lecture with examples, utilizing paper and pencil exercises so that participants may practice each step.  Much discussion occurs.  Then role plays for practice with coaching from the instructor follow.

The class occurs over two sessions, Friday, May 9 from 7pm-9:30 pm and Saturday, May 10 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.  .

Holly is joined by Asharaine Machala, a member of the Apprenticeship Circle to coach participants in the break-out portion of each session. This one-on-one coaching leads to rapid integration of the skills introduced in the large group.
