This Practice Group begins with a "remembering" for inspiration, centering and connecting with ourselves. This is followed by a "check-in" when we share how we are, what we bring with us or what we hope to receive during the session. Activities include: short education exercises, empathy, role-plays, games and discussions.

This is a 2-day non-residential foundation training in NVC. My aim is to support you to acquire a clear basic understanding of the NVC process and how you can use it in your daily life - in personal, social or work situations. I intend to do this by outlining the main elements of NVC and providing opportunities for you to practice expressing them in different contexts - out loud, through writing and through role-play in small groups of 2 or 3. I see this course as providing a 'foundation' for you, so that you can progress with NVC in your daily life and in further trainings if you so desire. NVC enables us to connect empathically with other people, and helps us
to help them to connect empathically with us. But what do you do when
you are feeling angry or upset to the extent that you don't want to
empathise with them? And they feel the same about you?! We call this
empathy collision, and on this day we will explore what is happening in
these situations and how we can get around this impasse. This day will
be practice oriented, to help you develop and rejuvenate your skill
with NVC.

this workshop will focus on needs, and the unconsciouse belief system we have that our unmet needs often derive from...experiential, interactive, dynamic and transforming work, working with the roots of our patterns.

A full day of post-introductory skill-development and practice using a variety of learning modes. Portions of the training, including our sumptuous lunch, will be intergenerational!
Learn the basics and/or deepen your skills in "collaborative" and "authentic" communication, finding ways to make accurate observations, state your needs and feelings clearly and respond to those of others with compassion. Using role play, games, and individual and group exercises, we will explore practical skills to support a consciousness of curiosity, openness, mutuality, care and trust in the building of relationships. Are you ready for an intensive NVC experience? Eager to jump-start your integration of NVC skills and consciousness? Do you want to see what it's like to live NVC in a supportive community? To stretch your heart muscles and grow?

Join Miki Kashtan for our 61st intensive retreat, on March 7th through 12th, for 6 days of NVC immersion, with the support of students and graduates of the Leadership Program.

Topics in our highly acclaimed intensives include the spiritual foundation of NVC, living NVC within ourselves, in our relationships, and in the world, working with anger, and much more. Lots of practice, experiential learning, empathy groups, and a special focus for people interested in exploring teaching NVC. We are delighted to be able to offer this level of support to our community.

Nonviolent Communication är ett stöd för dig som vill lära dig kommunicera på sätt som skapar mer kontakt och mindre motstånd. Det är en kommunikationsprocess som hjälper oss att skapa en dialog där vi kan mötas i samförstånd. För den här kursen används ett digitalt klassrum där du får individuell feedback på din uppgifter. Där har du också möjlighet att dela funderingar och insikter med andra som går kursen.
Kursinnehåll: Varje vecka behandlar vi ett kapitel i boken Nonviolent Communication, ett språk för livet. Du gör övningar för att tillämpa det du lär.
Kursmoment och arbetssätt: Kursen är helt på distans, utan fasta träffar och vi möts via Internet. Du kan alltså befinna dig vart du vill så länge du har tillgång till Internet vilket innebär ett flexibelt lärande där du själv kan välja när du gör de uppgifter som följer med utbildningen.

This workshop, consisting mainly of exercises and role plays, is for those who have had at least a one day introductory training in NVC. Enrollment will be limited to 20 people.
About the workshop leader: Gary Baran is a CNVC Certified Trainer and served as executive director of the Center from 1998 until 2006; a professor emeritus of philosophy; and a California licensed Marriage & Family Therapist.
