November 16, 2007

Dear NVC Community,

I am writing this letter as newly elected President of the CNVC Board of Directors. My intention is to immediately be in communication with you about some prominent aspects of our recent in-person board meeting November 1 - 4, 2007, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

I am feeling two sets of feelings - excited, hopeful, inspired; and cautious and vigilant. This communication is, in fact, an example of some of the steps we (Board) have taken to move more into creating an organization in which everyone's needs are valued - not in theory, but in demonstrated action.

I believe it is not news that the CNVC organization has not functioned as effectively and fully as we all yearn for. It is our intention to improve our functioning as an organization that lives in integrity. That is, one that operates in harmony with mutuality, inclusion, and transparency. We seek to ensure that the organizational structure itself, empowers us to use
the structure as a vehicle and instrument for the living consciousness that NVC reveals and empowers.

At the November Board meeting we have created elements in our communications and organizational structures that I believe will contribute significantly to connecting and functioning effectively in alignment with our mission and
vision, including:

* Significant improvements in the CNVC website to make it easier to connect with each other throughout the NVC community. We have completed several technical upgrades and plan to release the first user-visible
upgrade in late December.

* The CNVC Leadership Team (LT) will have expanded meetings every three months attended by a second person nominated from each coordinator's team, including the Global Community Circle (GCC), the CNVC office, Educational Services Team, Information Technology Team, and Synergy Team. Observers will be invited.

Within the next thirty days I will be offering a summary explanation of the dynamic elements of the organizationa structure, how they operate and how you can participate with us.

Other "highlights" of our decisions made at the Board meeting include hiring grant writers and a media coordinator, and recruiting new members on the Board.

I would like to close this letter with an invitation to participate in the current Global Community Circle (GCC) survey, and to participate in community "grassroots" teleconferences to work together to inform the GCC about what policies would support your organization and the worldwide network. More information about this is available at:
