Today I received the following quote ~
"Occasionally in life there are those moments of unutterable fulfillment which cannot be completely explained by those symbols called words. Their meanings can only be articulated by the inaudible language of the heart."
Martin Luther King, Jr.
I love the reminder that words are not needed to communicate from our heart. I'm remembering an exercise in my workshops which simply invites people to listen without uttering a word for 7 minutes to another person.
It seems to be so powerful because there are no words to distract and enable anyone to move away from what is being expressed.
People say to me how magical and satisfying it is to be listened to so fully and how connected they feel with themselves and the other. In just 7 minutes!! Hmm, who can I listen to, today and allow my silence to effortlessly create connection?
And you? :-)
