As a long time Registered Nurse working a good part of my career in School Nursing I have been a firm believer in treating young people as thinking caring beings. It seems to me that we all respond to being treated with respect rather than being ordered about. Now as a Grandma I am more determined than ever to encourage cooperation with love and rationale not dictating and orders. Our daughter has seen the difference in our Grandson using this method.
