A positive trend in European schools today is work for inclusion.
The word 'inclusion' is clearly related to 'exclusion' since they are opposites. The question is to 'fit in' - or not. If you can not fit in - sorry, we have to exclude you. To work for inclusion is to change circumstances so that everybody can 'fit in'. What situation is that? Is it possible or just a nice dream? What will the reaction be when reality hits?
The picture I get from 'inclusion' and 'exclusion' is that of framing. Frames have an inside and an outside. As long as you have frames there is always a risk that someone will not fit in.
I want to change that picture. Alternative pictures are that of a big tree under which you can seek protection or of the world wide web.
