CNVC Information Technology Update for May 2009 Board Meeting.

Here is an update that builds on the report given at the previous board meeting. Written version of that report is available upon request.

Web Site:
Some people were not able to make use of the feature that allowed them to be found using our geo-political mapping system. Some of these problems were related to the software on the site and some were because of misunderstandings on how the software worked.

We have just completed an enhancement to the location software for the web site that includes many missing geographic locations including Russia and newer provinces in France.
We are making plans to move the hosting of the web site to one that provides professional tools for management and more responsive support without increasing our costs.

Training Registration Application:
We are adding questions in the registration form that will allow us to track more information about the people who sign up so we can better meet their needs in the future, and to help us document our activity to enhance fundraising.

Scheduler Application:
We have arranged to have this application that replaces the one used by people wanting to have Marshall come to their area and is being enhanced to handle numerous trainers by numerous schedulers with greater ease developed by a highly qualified software developer in exchange for a few hundred dollars of educational material. Two other bids for this project came in between $4,000 and $5,000. Details will be sent upon request.

Intranet:
We are preparing to install the software to develop an Intranet to ease office collaboration using existing staff skills and the previous Office server.
