Mission:
I try to be the change I want to see. My choices are governed by love and not by fear. I am motivated to help the underdog, the misunderstood, the neglected, and the discriminated.
As of January 2012, I plan to have a CA Teaching Credential in Special Education and a NY Teaching Credential in Elementary Education. (Perhaps in the future, I will work in a women's penitentiary.)
I try to encourage not only my students, but also all people who I encounter to discover/share their strengths/talents, develop new ones, and to have fun learning, which to me is synonymous with living.
To show people I care, I strive to genuinely understand them by sometimes asking challenging questions (if culturally appropriate or sensitive), anticipate their needs, and offer to connect them with pertinent resources. And most importantly, I truly forgive and try to show people love in the way that they value and to never avoid something or someone. I think that avoidance and escapism serves only to delay maturity.
Also, I am mid-way in writing a book about East Asians' cultural struggles and evolution in Western society.
